"Overall, she's a great doctor, if you want to wait for her emergency patients, or over booking. Her staff isn't very well mannered, which made me stop seeing her. Because, they'll fail to call you ahead of time to let you know she's in the emergency room or emergency deliveries, or have you wait hours before seeing the doctor for your appointment... Which if you have a job you'll have to call off or schedule off. Then they'll make it impossible to get your records. & when you get your records, important results from a surgery is missing very unprofessional."

"Dr. Lap was a very, very great doctor! I hate that she has retired. She is very good at what she does. She's really straight forward. She does not talk in "circles". Dr. Lap has been my doctor of many years and delivered all of my kids.I am very thankful for that lady! She informed about everything I did not understand or I did not know. "Louisiana has one of the highest C-section rate than all other states. When I was pregnant I started calling doctors and asking for their records on C sections. No one gives those out- which they should. Let me see how you handle women especially women of color! And let me decide if you are the best fit based on your numbers. I opted to go with a midwife however you have to pair yourself with a doctor to allow for home births. My midwife’s recommendation and who she’s worked with was Dr. Lap. I ended up going into premature labor which laws didn’t allow my midwife to deliver at home so I had to go to the hospital. Dr. Lap knew I didn’t want a Cesarean and she let me labor. Gave me space and respected the midwife that was there and me as a woman. I know that Dr. Lap probably has one of the lowest records of C-sections in Louisiana. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t have to perform them but it does mean that she champions the natural birth process and doesn’t come up with quick “medical reasons” on why we need to cut away. There’s always a “medical reason” to do C sections and Statistic wise Louisiana Doctors have a thing for it! but Dr. Lap really looks out for you and one of the few that will do Vbacs! The only con would be the wait times and rude front desk. That was 7 years ago maybe that’s changed. But in the end having a doctor that you feel isn’t looking for the first chance to do a C-Section was really important to me!"

"To call her rude and childish is an understatement. She’s overworked, overbooked, and her patients and patience receive the grunt of it all. She does not respect patient privacy. I should not hear about the next woman’s babies dying BEFORE she does. I took it as a manipulative tactic to get me to be more understanding of her long wait times. This woman has thrown temper tantrums in front of me, she has lied on my medical records to cover her tracks of poor bedside manner. She wouldn’t even take the time to have a conversation with me about possible birthing plans. She needs to hang it up and retire because people are suffering because of her. She’s miserable and it showed every single time we had an encounter. Her competency is gravely overshadowed by her abrasiveness and her lacking in being a decent human being ( I.e. having empathy for) to ALL PATIENTS despite having a long stressful day. Such an abusive physician, and she should be reported."

"I’ve been coming to Dr. Lap since I was 16 years old. She’s always been a great doctor BUT the wait to get an appointment is entirely too long AND once you come in for your appointment and arrive early so that you’re able to fill out whatever paperwork, you have to wait another hour or 2 to even get to the back plus another 20-30 minutes before she comes in the room to see you. If you have anything planned for the day and you’re going to see Dr. Lap make sure you cancel all plans because you’ll be there all day. Not to mention there’s no parking validation so you have to either put a lot of money in the meter, continuously go and add money to your meter or park really far for free parking."
