Pathology Associates of Mid La

"“Modifier is missing, invalid, or incorrect for the procedure billed”. Does this look familiar? Insurance company will not pay and provider will not update modifier. This has happened twice with this company. How do we know as patients who the hospitals negotiates contracts with for pathology? We don’t!!! In the future I will have to find out prior to services rendered. ****UPDATE: I received a reimbursement check for a bill I paid in full from service date 3/25/21, EOB indicated that claim was reprocessed. Provider negotiated discount and I was only responsible for $6.16. Claim was processed at the In-Network level of benefits. ****Now I am waiting on a full refund on a payment for services rendered on 8/21/20. I had to call Pathology Associates and speak to a supervisor about the 8/21/20 reimbursement payment that was “inadvertently” overlooked. Was promised I would receive a check on their next check run of 3/20/23."

"They do not code properly for insurance to pay. I have United Healthcare and the claims sent were continually rejected due to incorrect coding. I called and was told I would have to do all the work to have my insurance company pay the claim, so I went ahead and paid out of pocket even though I hit my out of pocket max, because I didn’t feel like fighting. This is what they count on. In my personal opinion, this feels fraudulent to me. I did not chose this company. This is who Glenwood uses. They need to chose a different company."

"They do not bill correctly, and when I called them the representative was not helpful. They insist they are billing correctly, and to change anything would be fraudulent. The information on my insurance claim clearly states the incorrect billing code was used, and the claim will need to be resubmitted with the correct coding. Pathology Assoc of Mid LA refuses to change the coding."

"This organization does not bill properly and does not use the correct billing codes in order to work with insurance companies. They then blame the insurance companies - I was actually on a conference call with both Pathology Associates and my insurance representative. My insurance representative asked them several times NOT to contact me but to work with them, and to submit the proper codes. Pathology Associates refused and insisted they were billing correctly. They use AMA codes, which almost no insurance company uses."

"Too bad I can't leave a zero star review. I went back and fourth with this place about a bill. They do not code correctly. This means the claim will 100% get denied. My insurance company told me that the reason for denial was because this place does not follow the correct procedures of processing your bill. I have paid the bill as it is not worth my time to appeal such a small amount. I will have my Dr. and hospital notate my account not to use this place again."
