"They overcharge."

"Okay so I NEVER leave bad reviews, but at this point I just need to warn the next guy. I went in to get a prescription refilled, no big deal right? They tell me that my first visit is $147 and all of my next visits would be $90. I ask them why it isn’t my normal copay of $40 and they say I have a “deductible” I need to reach. I’m weirded out, so I call my insurance company. I’m on the phone with them and they tell me that this doctors office is in-network and my copay should only be $40. I go back inside and tell them that, and the lady up front changes her story from saying that it is a deductible to the $147 being “their policy” because new patients require an “extensive” first visit. However, even with it being an “extensive” first visit, my next visits would still be $90. The whole time I am on the phone with my insurance company, they’re telling me that I should only be paying $40. So I tell them that what the price is ridiculous and the lady responds with “well, we’re the cheapest in the area so.” After that, I call another doctor right down the street and ask them if they charge the same way, and she tells me that I would only be charged my regular copay of $40 with them. My insurance told me they have never even heard of a doctor charging that way. In times like these when doctors are charging insurance hundreds if not thousands of dollars, for them to blatantly disrespect my insurance policy and still decide to charge an arm and a leg for a prescription refill is disgusting. Maybe this is why they’re one of two doctor’s offices in town that are still accepting new patients. Urgent care should not be cheaper than a General Practitioner."
