Hyatt Place Baton Rouge/I-10

"When we walked into the lobby no one was at the attendant desk to check us in. There was another couple there who was on their phone trying to call the hotel to find out who they could get in touch with to purchase some snacks. The hotel employee emerges from an unmarked door a few minutes later looking like he had just woke up from a nap. After helping the other couple check out there was an attempt to check us in but unfortunately their booking system had canceled our reservation. Days later and several phone calls later and the full hotel stay fee was charged to our card, our booking agency says that they canceled our reservation because our card was declined but there was no indication of any decline on our credit card account and the full amount was billed to our credit card. To this day a 25$ cancellation fee lingers on our account with no real good explanation."

"If there is one review that you take heed to, let it be this one. I am currently on the last night of my stay here and to say it has been extremely disheartening and disappointing would be an understatement. My wife and I have enjoyed staying at Hyatt Places for years. Breakfast is always good, front desk service friendly and the room service impeccable. However that has NOT been the experience here at this particular Hyatt. Room service has been a complete and utter mess. Every 2 days, only a replenishment of towels. No made bed. No toilet paper. There is an African American lady who is on the cleaning staff who is unfriendly and surly as hell. The breakfast? Watery eggs with a few limp pieces of ham. No fresh refills. No waffle batter. Just not up to the standards that you would expect from the Hyatt. The smell of weed permeates the halls and the hotel rooms. Only one elevator works. Stay elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Day 4 of 5 stay here and I've stayed in better places. The room is spacious. [We got the suite with king size bed and pull out sofa bed] There's a moldy smell from the ac unit. Asked for towels but never received them. Took one off the cleaning cart in the hallway. Fridge and desk in the room but no microwave? Bed was soft and comfortable. Clean sheets..clean room. The breakfast is hot and adequate. Watery eggs, a meat and French toast. Definitely not enough seating to eat so get down there early. If we come back south, most likely won't stay here again."

"The front desk attendants were very friendly and eager to help, which was this location’s saving grace because everything else left much to be desired. I stayed in room 503. The room was dated; the sofa had stains on it, the carpet was old and needed cleaning, and the bed was probably the best part of the room. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The bathroom was somewhat clean, but there was hair on the divider where the shower was, and a baby lizard hung out in my bathroom for my entire 2-day stay. Moreover, the hotel has an odd stench reminiscent of natural gas. I decided to check out early because I just wasn’t feeling it. I booked this hotel last minute. It definitely wasn’t worth what I paid for it, but that’s business, I guess. I became a Hyatt member, but I will be canceling that membership. This can’t be the Hyatt Experience they’re selling."
