"There was an approx. 30-40 minute waitlist. Food was delicious. Our server was so attentive and recommended some great dishes to try. She brought me a bib for my bbq shrimp, which I definitely needed. The seafood gumbo was good. My friend ordered the broiled stuffed flounder. Generous portions and great family vibe."

"This was one of the first places I tried in New Orleans. Very casual restaurant but good quality seafood. I’m sorry I don’t remember everything we ordered. The portion sizes were ample for family style dinner. Prices were good. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food to come out. Not sure why the overall rating is low, you don’t need a fancy place to eat local cuisine. The fried seafood platter was nice and crispy. Good seasoning. The bbq shrimp sauce pairs wonderfully with the bread. I would definitely come back."

"Deanies is one of the places that we always go whenever we come to New Orleans. Consistently excellent food and service. Great oysters and huge portions of fried seafood. And some of the best boiled crawfish when they are in season."

"Went here right before closing on a Thursday night. We sat at the bar. When we arrived there were several large groups leaving. So it wasn't too crowded. The bartender was very funny and helpful. I had the seafood gumbo and crab balls. Both were delicious. The gumbo has a huge chunk of crab in it. There is a free parking lot in front. They served red potatoes with butter. The potatoes were boiled with the seafood boil. It was very tasty. We saw a table receive their seafood platter. It looked like a mountain. Would like to try that the next time."

"This restaurant icon did not disappoint. Even though our waitress was triple sat, she handled the traffic like a champ. Complimentary potatoes were provided. The food was scrumptious and appealing to the eye. The seafood platter for two could have easily accommodated 3. The dirty rice had a unique flavor because it was prepared with pork & beef. The carrot soufflé was overly sweet, but still had a good flavor. We didn't order the onion rings, but they looked divine and could feed 4 to 6 people easily. The strawberry daiquiri cocktail tasted like a smoothie. I'll definitely be back to sample more of the menu."
