"Love our Dollar Tree. The crew there is wonderful always so happy. The manager is the best around. Since they added it to be more than just a dollar tree I don't hardly ever go to Walmart anymore"

"Always enjoy coming here during bayou runs. You get what you pay for with everything being a dollar. Shelves are always stacked and they shake things up with new products every once in a while. Especially during the holidays. Staff are friendly and polite everyday. Never had a single issue."

"My family and I have been going to this particular dollar tree store since it's opening, so the employees who work there have a fair understanding of who we are. On this particular night my family and I were preparing for a movie night, so we went to the Dollar tree store to get some snacks. My mother and I were in the candy aisle, while my brothers went their own way to get their snacks for the night. When we came together to pay for the snacks, my brother told my mother and I that one of the employees informed them that there were cameras in the store. My mother asked what they did to warrant a remark like that and they said nothing. And they just so happened to say it in front of the woman who told them this. She confirmed the statement in a rather hostile way which took me back because I was just in the store a few hours before this incident happened and this woman was very respectful to me. To put it into perspective, my brothers have never stolen anything from the store, especially with my mother present. They would rather pay with pennies and nickles than steal, so I continued to ask them questions about what they were doing and they just said they were talking. After getting their side of the story I went to the employee to ask what they did to receive such an unnecessarily hostile response and she said that they looked suspicious. Be that in mind both of my brothers are black, one being lighter than the other. I asked her if it was suspicious for two brothers to talk amongst each other and she just laughed. I asked her why she was laughing and she said I love it when people react like this, and I said because you racially harassed my brothers and she said yeah. She continued to say that she was not racist, which I never said she was. She defended herself by saying she wasn't rascist because she had a black husband, which is one of the most racist things to say. This response has so often been relied on by those facing accusations of racism that it has become shorthand for weak denials of bigotry. It's ashame she used her husband as a prop for how she treated my brothers. I'm not calling her a racist but I do believe she needs to check herself. My family has been on the bayou long enough to know what is racist and what is not, and in this case it was. She would not have said this to any other kids talking amongst themselves in the store and I believe it's a problem. And it doesn't matter how many black husbands you have. Your attitude towards my brothers was disrespectful and unnecessarily cruel. You make them feel unsafe to leave my mother's side and drills into their minds that they are always guilty of something. I will not disclose your name but you know who you are, ma'am."
