A Cut Above

"I have taken my Persian cats here for many years for lion cuts. One cat is well behaved and the other is not. Mellisa used a face covering while shaving my skittish cat so he wouldn’t keep trying to escape. It worked well, and the cat was calm during the shave, which I witnessed when I arrived. Definitely good to have techniques that work since all animals react differently. She is very gentle and caring with my cats. I appreciate that she has many years of knowledge and skill and great patience to shave my skittish Persian. Highly recommended!"

"Just relocating to Portland I was in search of a new groomer for my long hair Himalayan cat who needs lion cuts semi-annually. Shortly after dropping my cat off, the groomer called saying that they couldn’t cut him (the groomer we previously took him to and the groomer after this experience had no issues with my cat) all while I could hear my cat wailing away in the background. I went to pick him up to find the hack job that had been done. Not only was my poor cat looking horrible, the groomer went on to say “if there’s any blood on him it’s probably mine”. The only plus side was she didn’t charge. Do not bring your cats here as the service was clearly sub-par and unprofessional - she uses a blinder over their head which only terrifies the cat more. Experienced cat groomers do not need to use such an accessory. There were also dogs loose in the grooming area which obviously were going to set the cat even more on edge."
