"My experience with In or Out Tax Services, specifically Eve Davis, has been an absolute nightmare. Eve's communication skills are shockingly inadequate. Weeks would go by without a response, despite me constantly following up. She assured me my taxes would be completed by June, her promises turned out to be empty, leaving me in the dark about the status of my taxes. Of course, her lack of communication started AFTER I paid the deposit. To make matters worse, she claimed to file an extension with the IRS and it was an outright lie. This falsehood resulted in a $700 IRS late fee after seeking assistance from a more reliable professional. It's disheartening to encounter such deceit and irresponsibility. Attempts to contact Eve and In or Out Tax Services have been met with silence, emphasizing their lack of accountability. In or Out Tax Services is not just inefficient; they engage in unethical practices and deceive clients. My warning to anyone considering their services: Beware of their false promises and questionable integrity. They've not only failed to provide the service promised but have also left me with significant financial consequences. Please listen to the other reviews and steer clear of this awful company! ⚠️"

"I cannot overstate how disappointed I am with the amount I paid for help with my returns and the customer service I got. I understand there was some personal issues adding to the backlog of work at the business. I was sympathetic to that. However, after filing an extension and getting my info in plenty of time everything came down to the last minute. Not only that, I needed to update my address and checking info. I e-mailed three times and called three times and got one phone message back. No one updated my address. Therefore my refund was returned to the IRS by the postal service. This was the simplest of customer service requests in my opinion. I will not be bringing my business back."

"I don’t take writing a negative review lightly as I know how it can affect a small business. Unfortunately the service I experienced with this company hurt my small business so I want to give a heads up. My taxes were not done correctly for federal or the city and I received little to guidance or communication outside the minimum. If you are just looking for someone to put your numbers that you come up with into a form and submit it for you then this is the place for you. But if you need any help outside of that, you should consider another company."

"Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with tax services. Over the last few years, I've made some mistakes so on my tax returns so I sought out professional help to help with previous years and for my 2022 returns. What I got with In or Out Tax Services is not a good professional service. I worked with Eve and am extremely unhappy with everything. I had them help with amending a previous years taxes. Although that went through, she hardly communicated anything. I would have to reach out throughout for any kind of update but things got amended and in the end I ended up owing a lot less than the IRS said I did so I was happy enough to continue and use this business for my 2022 returns. That was a big mistake. It's April 21st and I still haven't seen what was sent out or if anything was sent out for 2022. I provided all my tax documents in early March, I've constantly reached out, and asked for updates, and was only contacted on April 17th for some clarification. I was told I'd get the documents to sign on the 18th but never received anything. I've just constantly told that it'll be done and I'll see something in a few hours or the next day, but only because I've constantly reached out. I was never provided updates voluntary. Bottom line, don't use this service. I'm out a deposit and don't know if/how my taxes were done. I'll now have to figure how to fix my 2022 taxes and what other tax services I should be using instead of this terrible place."

"I joined a company that was already working with In or Out Tax Services and I was quickly made aware that the team is not customer service oriented. We had our tax and payroll services through them and I would consistently get rude emails from the payroll processer about submitting payroll on a date that was not anticipated because instead of giving us a schedule they expected us to know every single bank holiday that would delay processing (which being that I am not a banker and our company does not follow bank holiday closures, I am not tracking every single holiday that affects bank deposits). That could have been something we worked through, but the payroll person would not respond in a timely manner or assist us with the information we needed to make sure we were on a schedule that worked for both of us. We switched over to Gusto and their team claimed they had no idea how Gusto worked and what we would need to do the transition so I had to do all of the research and manage it on my own (which again, is fine, but why wouldn't a company know their competition and try to actually compete to keep business???) As the main support person for the business owner I would send tax forms we received from various agencies to Anne at In Or Out and almost every time I would receive a strange response like: "why are you sending this to me?" or "I'm not familiar with that tax form" instead of "thanks for sending that over" or "I'm not familiar with that form and I don't believe it is one of the tax forms I would manage, here are some resources to help you with that". it seems that they do not have an appropriate filing system to store tax forms and only have information about payroll tax forms, which doesn't make sense because it doesn't say they are a payroll tax service on their website, it says they are a tax service. If you provide any benefits to your employees, rest assured, they do not know how to file for them and won't try to figure it out for you. I have been trying to move our business away from In Or Out because if 2020 has taught small business owners anything, it is that you need to have a team of people that are ready to HELP, problem solve, and provide kind and compassionate customer service. I highly recommend you do not use In Or Out Tax Service as they are not any of those things. Looking through their other reviews it's clear they do not just treat us this way but also treat others this way and it is obvious by their reactive responses to their clients reviews that they are not willing to see how their behavior has led to their poor reviews and what I imagine is poor client retention. I will be looking into other local businesses that we can support that will actually support our local business back. After trying to resolve the issue with Anne at In Or Out, she spoke with our business owner and fired them without offering a refund or finishing their personal taxes for last year. Thankfully we're free of them at least. Do not use their tax services!"
