"I recently applied to WGU and was in contact with someone names Christopher Norris, who I am still frequently receiving automated emails from although it appears with no explanation whatsoever my enrollment counselor has changed. On 2 separate occasions I have scheduled appointments to speak with an advisor and on each occasion I have been no showed or received no response. The first occasion I scheduled with Norris through the portal and was then no showed. My intent was to lock in my commitment to start. I emailed to find out why the appointment was not kept and received no response. I then made an appointment request through the portal with Rachel and received an automated response that she would contact me in regards to my request to move my start date since no one has responded to my emails. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I tried to log into the portal today and I am apparently no longer in the system. It's disappointing that I was hoping to pursue yet another degree at your institution; however, due to your customer service and obvious lack of organization, I will not be attending your school. And am requesting a formal removal of my records from your system. I will also be sure to leave a review on your website. Very disappointing."

"It's It's business more than a school. The support they give is to meet requirements. Instructors don't agree with the curriculum they teach. Comes from Texas most times per usual. And the support people are over worked and under paid as a second or third job usually. Anyone else you get a hold of is following a script with the only positive, English is a first language. But yes. A BUSINESS, one star stands for you can get a degree quickly if you dont need any help ever with an online system of school. Good luck."

"This place is a scam. Avoid it. My partner has a BA and and a Masters Degree, simply trying to get a teacher's certification. They say what is needed are three additional courses before getting into the program. Thing is, these other courses are ALL in the areas my partnered has studied. There is no direct line to the transcript people/Registrar, so the appeal process is a run around. The mediator is a "counselor" who only sends out spam related information after discussions; never really offering anything except the word coming down from those who clearly have no interest in reading/looking at the actual courses my partner has taken. The counselor is beyond incompetent, but this is to be suspected in a for-profit system. Good luck getting anywhere with them. What's become clear is this: WGU has a scam going with other institutions they partner with, and they feed applicants who need those pre-required courses to the affiliations (god knows how many they send). This, then, means WGU (and their affiliates) gets more money from the potential student. How many students have had to repeat or take other courses before they get into the program proper? Ask yourself this: if you have a Masters in, say, English with an emphasis in writing, and WGU says you need an additional course in in linguistics, but your degree in writing is devoted precisely to THAT very thing (advanced writing degrees presuppose understanding linguistics in a variety of ways),—is WGU not asking you to do something utterly unnecessary? And why? Here you can get a glimpse by the way they push their affiliates. I support online education. I do not support programs like WGU that clearly are scamming potential applicants. Avoid this place."

"Sadly all mentors are still on the east coast for the IT program. It's a pain in the butt to actually get a live person outside of regular working hours. Great possibly if your working daily in the field but if you're looking to finish the program to get a job think twice. Other than cookie cutter "projects" that "must be exactly like this" to pass the IT program lacks actual projects you would expect at a BA level to make the program interesting and meaningful. The IT program is mostly going through 3rd party programs I could be doing on my own for much less. I've spent years and thousands on community college courses for self improvement and degree focus but WGU is the first time I've felt like I'm completely wasting time and money. I've recommended the program to many friends and had high hopes for WGU before attending. They need more than minimal correspondence level of activity, mentors on students schedules, and a focus on making the program engaging and exciting to learn. Hopefully they are willing to become better. I know they can do more."
