"The Robert Carter House was not open to the public on the days that we visited. It is a very large home adjacent to the Governor’s Mansion and I believe original to the site. The grounds are open to wander giving a feel of what it may have been like when occupied. A large breezeway connects the several sections of the home and in the rear there are sheep grazing the fields."

"A must see house in Colonial Williamsburg. It's one of the original buildings you can site in Colonial Williamsburg. Situated adjacent to Governor's Palace, this building belonged to Robert King Carter, the acting Governor of Virginia during 1726."
