Cascadia School

"Cascadia Montessori truly meets children where they are, fostering creativity and the love of learning. My first grade child has had the freedom to explore her interests while at the same time taking responsibility for her own education. (!!) An abundance of small group lessons and work take place. She's created and performed plays, written and performed music with classmates and taken trips to the public library during school to research. Montessori also has a way of introducing advanced math lessons so children understand the reasoning behind it. Questions are welcomed and highly encouraged! All the students I've interacted with are independent, precocious and most of all love going to school. The mixed aged classrooms are an incredible experience for all involved. There is so much each child can learn from one another and they stay with the same teachers for three years, creating a true understanding and bond. My child calls her class her second family. We couldn't imagine a better learning environment if we tried!"

"Being a teacher is like a curse, you are always in the search for that great school, well lucky us because we finally found Cascadia ! I'm very impress with the science and math curriculum, my 9 years old is learning how to calculate the area of a pyramid with great enthusiasm, he is eager to go everyday to school. My son loves the outside trips that follows the program, like visiting the museums or going to the Audubon society The administration is kind and very attentive. We love it."

She struggled with arguing at home because she craved independence. Cascadia has helped with both. This not only provides for just the right challenge, it also gives an outlet for her to be independent and feel responsible. Probably my favorite thing is pick up time. "Our family was looking for a alternative to the standard public school experience. Public school for us wasn't to our liking for tons of reasons and then we found Cascadia! In a nutshell our family is blown away by the overall atmosphere. Our son is learning and smiling everyday now, it's amazing what a difference it has made in our lives. The individual attention is wonderful, the child centered approach and teaching them one on one. The classrooms are beautiful and they really take the time to get to know each child and what they need. I wouldn't go anywhere else ever. It's amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. "The social, spiritual and intellectual benefits of a Montessori education are well documented and information is widely available online so I won't spend time lauding Montessori here. I will just say that Cascadia School is true Montessori with educators that serve the whole child, stimulate their natural curiosity, celebrate their unique attributes and challenge my sons to be their best selves. If I had a middle school experience like my son is getting at Cascadia, I would actually want to repeat middle school! He loves the field study trips in particular, unheard of in public middle schools! Cascadia's elementary programs are exemplary as well. My only regret is that my children haven't attended Cascadia longer, worth every penny!"
