"Shanghaied in Astoria is an Oregon State Treasure! It's silly. It's slapstick. It's audience participation! 34 years running with 100% VOLUNTEER local actors. It's just plain FUN! You can enjoy as an audience member or be brave, show up for auditions and join in the fun ON stage! The volunteers on stage work their hearts out to give you a silly, popcorn throwing, good time. ASOC offers 3 annual melodramas and several other productions throughout the year, so there's almost always something going on. (The one guy who gave a one star review just doesn't get it. This isn't Broadway. It's Off Bond Street Small Town FUN!)"
"I have known about this gem for years but never went. Tonight I took my parent to see the production. Shanghaid in Astoria was Great!! We had The best time and took pictures with some of the cast. Amazing experience! Thank you!"
