"In 2021, my experience renting through ReMax Property Management - Yelm was pretty disappointing and frustrating, and I wanted to share some of the reasons why I feel that way: The issues started right when we moved in and discovered there were no lights in the garage. Charlene, the property manager, told us we "just needed to replace the light bulbs." But, it turned out that the electricity to the garage had been so poorly installed by the homeowner that it had to be completely replaced by an electrician, which took weeks and many, many scheduling calls on my part. It also became very obvious that, before we moved in, the house had not been cleaned to the same standard we were expected to leave it in (underneath the oven was filthy and there were thick layers of dust on the ceiling fans are just a few examples). A month or so after move-in I received a text message from Charlene accusing me of not paying the water bill and telling me that the cost of it would be added to my rent. I found out shortly thereafter that the owner had mistakenly received a water statement and it was automatically assumed that we didn't pay. I was then told that it would be my responsibility to call and let the city know that the owner shouldn't be getting statements (to which I politely responded no). All seemed to go okay after that until about 7 months later when (2 weeks before Christmas) we received a letter taped to the front door notifying us that we would need to vacate the home in 3 months because the owner was selling. Communication about the move out process was inconsistent and confusing, and during nearly every contact I had with Charlene she was rude and spoke down to me, repeating herself in a condescending tone when I would ask questions. Upon move-out we were charged for a lightbulb that was burned out when we moved it, and charged for removal of some of the home owners property from the garage. When I emailed about this, I was told that instead of being refunded that money, we'd be charged for other items (not mentioned during the move-out) to make-up for the cost. * I wanted to add that as of 2023, the property management office has new staff that have since reached out to apologize about our experience. I really appreciate that effort and it has given me the impression that the office is in better hands now."
"If we could have left a zero, we would have. My husband and I have been investment property owners for the last 20 years. We have used property management companies for about 5 and for the last 25, we've done it ourselves. Beware, upon move out, this company does not allow the tenant to be present! This is a tenant right in all 50 states!!!! We tried to set up the final walk through 3 weeks prior to move out and were told that that was not possible, that we had to drop the keys in a secured mailbox and take pictures because other sets of keys could be in the box. Also, that they had a busy schedule....not my problem, so do I. We communicated once again that it was our right to be at the final walk through and we would like to be notified as to when that was taking place so we could be the ones inconvenienced with shuffling work schedules instead of them working around our schedule. We were told, sure, we will let you know. Never heard back until we got the emailed copy of the walk through and a receipt from USPS for our deposit return. We were charged for things he(owner) had verbally told us to not worry about. You have been warned.....these folks do not operate above board, period. Follow up to response from Remax... Not only will we not take down our review, I will expound further. The contact 4 days prior to move out was our second request into being present for walk through, not our first. I did give you 3 weeks. As far as "larger damages"....the entire reason we felt we had to be at final walk through is because our Landlord Showed his true colors when he turned the management over to you and wouldn't speak to us. We signed a lease with him...we had a working relationship with him! Remax did not have a copy of the initial walk through. If you had, you would have known the mediocre condition this double wide was in when we took occupancy. Everything you listed in your response was the condition of the trailer when we did initial walk through, and can be.evidenced on our copy of that document, which again, remax didn't have. And since it seems to be apparent to us that the owner was at the walk through and not us, that you took his word over reality...again, tenant rights mean nothing to this establishment. I'm happy to have a phone conversation with anyone from this office, but I think the public forum is more beneficial....the truth always finds the light. If I were looking up reviews on this company and ran across my review, I, like everyone else on the planet, would take it with a grain of salt if it were the one bad comment....chalk it up to someone having a bad day. But you don't have to scroll through many comments to see that there is absolutely a pattern of bad business practices with Remax Country in Yelm, WA."
"I highly suggest renting with this company, they are fantastic! I just wanted to express how happy I have been renting a home from remax country. My family and I have rented from a few management companies over the years and remax has been the best to work with! With everything going on and the stress we have had during this year its been wonderful to have Charlene as our property manager. She has been really friendly and personable to work with! Always very responsive and quick with getting repairs scheduled or questions answered. The one thing that I can say that sets remax apart is how the staff treats their tenants, always happy to have a conversation and they really go the extra mile. Thank you for all you guys do!!!"
"I can not say enough good words about this business. My husband and I were apprehensive about selling our house and buying due to a previous experience. We walked into ReMax with so many questions about what they can do for us. We met with Adam who is probably the most knowledgeable realtor around. Adam made us feel comfortable and answered any and all questions we had. We sold our house way faster than anticipated with all offers well above asking. We also had an amazing buying agent, Liz Williams. Liz is honestly so sweet and knowledgeable as well. Liz did not pressure us into buying a house we did not want, she answered any and all curveball questions my husband threw at her. She helped us get into an amazing house we love and is our forever home. We had a hard problem with getting Navy federal, our lender, to converse with us and get the documents needed. Liz went above and beyond to help us with our Navy federal crisis. I can not recommend this business enough!"
