"There's lot to unpack at Horton Grove. On one hand, there's the discomfort of standing in a slave plantation. On the other hand, the structures the enslaved people made are incredible. I can see it being difficult for a handicapped visitor to get around the grounds. There are no restrooms here. All that being said, the land here is incredibly beautiful. The educational materials are interesting and well written."
"This collection of sites is a very interesting and sadly thought provoking window in our not so distant past. If you are in the area visit Stagville/Horton Grove. You will walk away with a better understanding of a period of history that cannot be repeated, or forgotten."
"Free to visit but donations welcomed. This was part of a larger historical site regarding a tobacco plantation and slavery. Very interesting to learn about those times and their struggles to be freed. I really recommend visiting as it was very interesting."
"Really really neat place with hiking trails through the forest going past old pre civil war buildings. Good information and very clean Does need better parking signs"
"This is a must go. Make sure you listen to the self guided tour podcast. Very humbling experience!"
