About the Business

Lenawee Historical Society

The Lenawee Historical Society, located at 110 East Church Street in Adrian, Michigan, is a museum and tourist attraction that allows visitors to step back in time and explore the rich history of Lenawee County. The museum features interesting documents, collections, and stories about the people and places that have shaped the county over the years.

Visitors can learn about the impact Lenawee County has had on national events, as well as the individuals who have made a difference in the community. The museum's archives contain thousands of documents related to various subjects of local interest, including business, government, religion, education, transportation, and the military.

The Lenawee Historical Society is always looking for new ways to raise operating funds, and one of their New Year's resolutions is to expand their reach by selling items online through internet auctions. They are seeking a volunteer to help create and manage accounts on auction sites for items such as clothing, books, household items, pictures, artwork, and collectibles.

If you have the expertise to assist with online auctions or are interested in teaching the museum staff how to do it, you can visit the museum on Fridays or Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm, or call 517-265-6071 for more information. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the Lenawee Historical Society as they continue to preserve and share the history of Lenawee County.

"These guys are truly dedicated to researching the history of Lenawee County. There's lots of cool things to see and learn about. My 3 year old even enjoyed visiting and seeing all the old toys. She was very into the old dolls and toys."

"Shout out to Kathy downstairs. She was very eager to help me find information on a historical home. I had three kids in tow and was so nervous about them being around all the old books, but Kathy put me right at ease. She was so welcoming. She went out of her way to get me the information I was looking for, all the while helping me busy the kiddos so I could read the info she pulled out. This place is such a gem that is overlooked far too much! There was no charge to enter today but they accept donations. Thank you all for a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back!"

"Great museum! Gorgeous building inside and out, and lots of things to see. Exhibits well organized- early settler tools, telephone switchboard, cars- tons of stuff for kids to enjoy, and enough explanations that anyone can learn a lot without spending a long time reading. Staff are friendly and helpful."

"A very good local museum. The displays are well explained.... But the staff is the better part. Ask a question and your in for a treat! The folks there were very knowledgeable. They took us down several paths that were not part of our original plan. I be going back for more"
