"Great museum and beautiful views of the Bear Mountain Bridge"

"Visited off season. This is the entry also to the suspension pedestrian bridge downhill from the Museum, walk around the museum bldg to the back. Its REAL EZ to miss its entrance from the main road, so SLOW DOWN and listen to your Google maps whgen it announces the upcoming turn from the limited access road. Reason for only 4 stars, They have removed all the trash barrels and designated it a carry out site only, C'mon PARKS dept, really !!?! . . Its a neat place to have a picnic lunch and hike on the trails for a great afternoon. Outside behind the bldg and always accessible off season also is a rolling meadow with a couple of rough hewn "colonial era" 1700's style benches with a fire "pit" in the middle, as shown in the attch'd pics, not a bad place to stop & rest after a hike on the trails, or down to the suspension bridge and back, down below."

"Nice museum. The employees are super nice very friendly and the are knowledgeable. The place is clean and they close at 5:00 PM you have to take your car or it will be locked in. But you still can walk through I think"

"Well kept historical site that I highly recommend. There's a museum and trails. Trails are very easy. The bridges are nice. There's a small zoo here as well. Parking on site, but be aware gate closes at 5pm."

"This is one of the nicest parks I've been to in awhile. It's got a small museum with artifacts, dioramas, examples of soldiers attire and a small book section/gift shop. Behind the museum to the left, you walk a short distance to where the fort was. There's well maintained trails with plaques showing what was there, like the house they stored gunpowder. The view overlooking Bear mountain bridge has cannons on it and you can see why this was a strategic place. If you go to the right beyond the museum there's a path leading down a hill to a footbridge over the river with a great view of the beat mountain bridge and a perfect spot to see trains. My son and I enjoyed it so much we've gone back many times."
