Ocean Shores Inn & Suites

"Lots of things were of an issue. The towel in the picture is ours. Looking around as you head to the small elevator. It looks like parts of the walls and hotel are patched and somethings were replaced properly. Some act like they are a top dollar hotel. Some staff is normal. They limit the towels you can have. One wash cloth, hand towel and one bath towel per person. Bottoms of doors are beat up. You hopefully get a bar of soap, but maybe on shampoo. Not worth the price this trip. Make sure you pack everything you need (towels, wash clothes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, extra blankets and lots of water) because you may or may not get what you need. Our heater had a problem with balancing out. It would run too cold or too hot. When you book, make sure the first name on the booking is the one who walks in to check in. They will ask for photo ID for the first person on the booking. I think that about covers it. Oh, they did replace the bad carpet since our last visit but that visit actually went better. Maybe some day I will cross my fingers and try again because I do like the water front view just not sitting on a dirty porch."

"The place is filthy and falling down. The photos posted online are a bait and switch. Stayed here one night. Tweakers were fighting through the night in the room next to us. The place is rust and rot. Fortunately, it smelled like they used a bottle of bleach on the linen, or I would have slept in my car."

"I have stayed at the Polynesian everytime I go to ocean shores it is a older building they keep it looking good and running good I had no problems ever while I was staying there the staff has always be wonderful and very helpful if you need any help on things to do they will give you some ideas on things to do and being on the beach side is always the best walking out of your room right to the beach is very nice or having the fire going at night listening to the ocean you can't beat that. If a person hasn't or has been down there the fall is always a good time to go when the weather is nasty and windy and rainy is when I like going to ocean shores just bring some warm clothes, rain gear maybe and a thermos and take a stroll down the beach or drive down the beach just be careful if you drive and be aware of the tides don't leave your car on the beach to long it could be a big problem if you do and if they still have the restaurant and bar there it was also very nice. So go down and have some fun. UPDATE I was just informed it is no longer the Polynesian resort its been sometime since I was down there I apologize for the name mix-up but I'm sure its as nice now or even nicer then the last time I stayed there but I will be coming down to the OCEAN SHORES INN & SUITES on my next visit and looking forward to staying there thank you for informing me of the name change."

"Very bad experience. We get to the room and it smells like wet dog. Had to get spray. Then we found out the fireplace did not work. After dragging our stuff to the stairs,because the elevator was not in service, we find that the refrigerator was broken too,not just the handle, freezer didn’t freeze and actual fridge hardly got colder then room temperature. The toilet ran 3-4 times a minute. In the morning when you would take a shower you would be scalded by the toilet running. The bathroom floor was filthy. Took two hands and allot of force to close the slider to the balcony. To top it off there was a huge pile of vomit in the parking lot. We went to another hotel the next day."

"I encountered some extenuating circumstances and asked to cancel my order days in advance. I was told verbally the refund was going to be processed. Two days prior to the scheduled arrival I hadn't heard anything but was told my reservation was cancelled and that verbally the manager had approved my refund but they needed an email from her. I called again the next day and was told the same thing but to check with the manager the next day. I called again on the scheduled day of arrival and was told yet again that the reservation had been cancelled and my refund was verbally approved but pending an email from the regional manager. Evidently the regional manager was at another location but no one would give me a number to reach her. Just today (day after planned checkout) I was told my refund was NOT approved and that I was out the cost of the reservation."
