"My experience with Tania has been completely unprofessional and discouraging. I’ve never had a therapist be so uncommunicative and flakey. Our first session I canceled due to a mental health emergency. And our subsequent sessions seemed to follow that pattern. In the last two months Tania has canceled or rescheduled on me four times. The first time her family had COVID, the second she needed to testify in court, the third her kid was sick at home and the fourth she had a sexual assault case to mediate. The first time her family had COVID she gave advanced notice to cancelling the night before which made things a lot less stressful on my end. The second time she had to testify in court, she rescheduled on me last minute and then canceled her rescheduling. She only gave me one alternative time which didn’t work for me so I went without therapy that week. The next time her kid was sick she asked to reschedule and gave me one time slot suggestion which didn’t work for me. The last time she canceled she did it an hour beforehand, I agreed to the rescheduling but ended up canceling due to the lack of communication. She seems over booked and over capacity but unwilling to admit it. I emailed Tania expressing my concerns and did not receive an email back before my session to A) address those concerns or B) confirm my appt. I emailed her stating “please know that these past few weeks of rescheduling and cancelations with our appointments has been frustrating for me. I understand that life happens and other clients have needs that sometimes exceed mine but these weekly appointments are a vital part of my mental health and wellbeing and I need them just as much as anyone else. I don’t mean to be unsympathetic by any means but I do want to advocate for myself.” I have not received a response in two days. I’ve asked for referrals but have not heard back. I know that she’s seen my email because she canceled my future sessions on her end. I overall liked Tania’s modality of therapy. I enjoyed her bluntness and honesty. Though at times, it could feel a little harsh but was also equally refreshing. I also liked how relational she was. One thing that did bother me though was how much she would talk about other clients in her session. She would tell THEIR stories which I didn’t love. It made me think well if she’s telling their stories, she’s probably tell mine to other clients even if she’s not naming names. It still felt wrong. Despite generally liking her style of therapy, it couldn’t excuse the lack of communication or respect for my time or needs. I hope Tania learns how to better communicate with her clients moving forward."

"I had a pretty strange experience with Tania. 4 sessions in, we weren't yet finding a good flow, but I thought things were going ok. I tried telling her that some ways we communicated were challenging for me. I was getting a little choked up. She abruptly ended our session 40 minutes early, and 5 minutes later cancelled all future appointments with me. It was strange to experience that lack of closure. Even though I value her knowledge and think she can be a great therapist, it was really irresponsible to abandon her client like that."
