"I am getting married in the area, and wanted to make an appointment for a gel manicure the day before my wedding day. When I called to schedule 1 month out, the owner informed me that she doesn't take appointments that far out, but she confirmed she would be open that day. She told me to call a week or two before my requested appointment date, and that I could schedule then. Strange, but okay. When I called back to schedule today, she refused to let me have an appointment. She stated because I am not a local, she won't take my appointment. She complained that she had several appointments with people who are from out of town who "just don't show up", so she no longer accepts appointment requests from "non-locals". I thought this was a bit unprofessional, but I do understand her frustration. She refused to take a credit card deposit to "hold" my appointment as well. It is extremely frustrating that I am now a week away from my wedding, and am scrambling to come up with a new plan. Why couldn't she have mentioned this when I called the first time?"
