Hillsboro Bar and Grill

"To set the stage I'll start off saying we hit this place at midnight and it was very busy so I'm guessing our experience was possibly not the norm. Also, everyone we spoke with who worked there was nice and polite. That being said, our experience wasn't great. We were hungry and this place was open late and had over 4* on Google, while we only wanted food not drinks, options are limited at midnight so we gave this place a try. We sat ourselves to one of the few open tables, it was "sticky" from previous drink spills but there wasn't any napkins or anything else to wipe it down. After sitting for 15 or so minutes I went up to the front to order as it seemed they would not be coming by. There wasn't a line, but waiting 5 or so minutes for someone to stop making drinks long enough to take my order. Order wasn't complex, 2 burgers and fries, went back and sat down and waited 20+ minutes for the meal to come. Considering fries don't come with the burger, it's an extra charge, there wasn't many fries with it which mind boggles me as fries are so dang cheap. Server didn't bring napkins, so I asked for some because there wasn't any anywhere we could get ourselves, I mean we ordered burgers and no napkins? They said they would bring some over. I looked at my partner and immediately said, we're not going to get any napkins, waited 5+ minutes and then just got up and went back to the bar to ask for some. Ate the burgers, they were fine, definitely not "1/2 pound" but good. Overall experience uninspiring. Again, everyone else there seemed to be enjoying themselves."

"Good food but not worth waiting an hour for! Wings were crispy, and burger was good. Went on a Saturday night, granted they were busy but that busy to wait an hour for food?! Come on, service was friendly but meh kept having to wave him down for drinks. Maybe might go back but would not go during busy hours unless you have time to kill…"

"Went here for a lunch meeting for work. The atmosphere is nice..has a welcoming feel. The furniture is good..nice wood high tops .. The food..for the price..meehh. I had the bacon cheeseburger. A typically good baseline of any eatery. The beef patty was thick. The bacon was thick. Good amount of vegetable ratio.. but some how..the bun was not great. And the beef petty..while thick..tasted like a previously frozen puck of meat. The fries ...an extra 3 bucks. .. were great tasting. But there wasn't very many in the serving. Glad o also ordered the fried mushrooms. They were good. But not sure that they were 10 dollars good. Decent tap selection.. I went with the lager.. from steeple jack. The bartender/waitress.. no complaints at all...she was great. She kept pushing the ranch dressing..so I went for it for dipping. And yeah..it was tasty. I would come back again to try more stuff..but. maybe I'll be a bit more aware of what I'm buying. For two people. Burger fries and two beers each. 100 bucks with tip. So for the quality and portion size..I think it's a bit speedy. But for a beer and the bar vibe they offer...yeah. it was good. Maybe I was just to early in the day to really enjoy the place. I recommend giving them a go if you want a nice place for a mediocre burger."

"Great place for casual hangout with friends. Food was really good but the drinks were not so great. Beers were good but the Cocktails were quite weak. Of course, the Cocktails were really cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. Service was really good though despite the late hour and mostly occupied tables."

"This place had a remodel recently. I liked the ambiance and staff was friendly. Standard fare bar food but done well. The burger will definitely fill you up. The bar has slots and pool tables."
