South Sound Oral Surgery

"We had a horrible experience at this place. I strongly recommend choosing a surgery center that is not cold-hearted to young people. Our son has never had surgery before and was nervous about it. They wouldn’t even let us walk back with him. This is done in an office setting, so we’ve been in the same hallway for appointments. We sat in the waiting room. I went to use the restroom, and when I came out, one of the assistants was telling us we needed to wait out in the car for our son. It was early in the morning and I was tired. It caught me off guard that they didn’t want us in the building to wait for our son. I told her that he is a minor and we are not leaving the building. She was insistent. I stood outside on the sidewalk. They brought our son out a while later in a wheelchair. He was not awake at all and slouched over. My husband had to lift him completely into the back of the car and sit with him on the way home because he could not sit up. They did not allow him to come out of the anesthesia before bringing him out. Our son was 13 at the time of surgery. We had to carry him into the house. He could not stay awake at all. It was very scary. It took about 6-7 hours for him to stay awake, not feel nauseated, and walk into the bathroom. I was so upset about the way he was treated, how we were treated and the whole situation. I tried to contact them to find out the name of the assistant or file a complaint. We were not allowed to know who these people were and they were assisting with surgery on our minor son. We were only allowed to know the name of the surgeon. I just want to warn other parents, so they don’t go through what we went through."

"Lucked out on my first call - they answered and I got in right away for a consult. They were rushed, but very thorough. They needed to wait for insurance to approve before they schedule anything else. So far so good. Got insurance approval... 5 months later I have have yet to get ahold of them. I called daily for 2 weeks at least. Well over 20 times. I've emailed, left messages. I even mailed a letter with a check. NOTHING. I'm now going elsewhere. Now I'm fighting to get my records sent to a new place. What horrible service. I will never recommend them."

"They were all very kind to me, especially the one with the rose tattoo, she comforted me through the difficulties of finding a vein to work. I would have liked more communication for hydration the day before to make it easier but, Besides that everyone was very pleasant. I am about 5 hours after surgery and I don’t feel pain yet so I am unsure about pain levels yet. But the doctor prescribed me proper medication to help the pain. Thank you southsound oral surgeons for taking care of me for my first surgery!!"

"I had a decayed tooth that needed to be removed and South Sound Oral Surgery promptly got me in for the doctor to examine and the next day the tooth was removed. The staff was professional and answered my questions in regards to having a post put in for a future crown. It was less than one half hour to receive a local anesthetic, pull the tooth, put in bone for the new post, and stitch. Best of all I required no pain medication after the procedure. A very good office to receive the care one expects."

"The whole experience was great. They went above and beyond. It was my 8 year old sons first surgery experience. They extracted an extra tooth from behind his teeth/middle of his mouth area. They were very nice and made my son feel very comfortable the whole time. They were quick and did a great job. They have went above and beyond checking up on him. I am confident in their work and in the fact that they care about their patients. I definitely recommend them for kids too"
