"There is a supposed housing manager that lives at your apartment and should be available 24/7. Yet, when needing something urgent they are always not available. Then when you email Gile he states “because of hunting season” normal maintenance isn’t available. What??? Does me living at your apt have anything to do with hunting season. Laundry dryer you have to use 3 times for your clothes to be dry wasting about $5. Apt was dirty moving into- yet they stated they needed a day for it to be cleaned what did you clean? paint chips everywhere . They don’t give you 24 hours notice when they are doing maintenance. Interesting place I must say! The maintenance people who actually come up are super nice though-it is just the people you will email."

"Lucy from Wiechmann made renting here a great process. I needed to extend my rent a month and the last minute and she did it for me with no hesitation. Fair return on the security deposit which is more than you can expect from your typical apartment in Milwaukee. The biggest part was WE Energies billed us well after we had moved out. They told me that only the landlord could confirm that I did not live there, and get the bill sent to the correct party otherwise I would have to pay. Most landlords would say not my problem, but Lucy called them up on my behalf when I was not even renting from her and was able to get the bill contested. Nicest people you can find and super helpful."

"I live at Riviera Apartments. I have absolutely no heat in my unit and there is a Freeze warning this weekend. Called the rental office who were vague and dismissive about when the boiler would actually be fixed; they gave me a space heater to use that looks like it's from the 1970s. The space heater was giving an E1 error message and not working anymore by the end of the night. Called the Emergency number for Maintenance during off hours and I haven't heard or seen from anybody. If I had known this place was going to be like this I would've never signed a lease here at all. The other reviews are also correct - the units are very very dirty when you move in and signs of neglect and disrepair are evident; virtual tours hide this with strategic camera placement. You don't want to rent from these people, trust me. Not worth the hassle. Editing again to add that one of the Rivera buildings has a pest control problem - large centipedes come out roughly every other night around 9pm. Maintenance came and taped up the access panel in the bedroom wall and I thought the issue would be fixed but I'm still getting huge centipedes at night in my unit. Won't report as nothing will be done the same way nothing was done when I complained about the heat (which by the way still doesn't come on unless the temperatures outside are below 40 degrees)."

"UPDATE: Changing my rating to one star because of how the end of my lease was handled. I had seen other reviews say that this company makes sure they get to keep every penny of your security deposit, and that turned out to be the case. I won't get into the whole story, but for one thing, they charged me for an hour of cleaning and cited the oven and floors in spite of the fact that we'd left it completely spotless. It was dirty when we moved in and we didn't complain, and we left it cleaner than we found it, literally scrubbed the floors and oven. The maintenance man even told us he didn't see why we wouldn't get our deposit back as long as we didn't break anything (which we did not.) Anyway, the whole thing left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I used to recommend Wiechmann as I thought it was decent for the price and location, but not anymore. I'm pretty happy with this apartment so far as a whole. The building upkeep is a little shoddy and there are some things like ungrounded outlets that we wish would be updated. There were a lot of things in disrepair when we moved in, but the serious issues were taken care of once we brought it to their attention. Maintenance is relatively responsive compared to other places I've lived. The leasing process went very smoothly. I've only lived here for a few months but I plan to stay for some time. It's not perfect, but it's relatively inexpensive and a nice area so I'm not too fussed about the little things. If something changes after we've been here longer I'll update the review."
