"My husband has banked with Covantage since he was 18 years old and has always had a job and had his checks direct deposited, for 15 years! When we started dating about five years ago he tried to get a $500 loan and they wouldn’t give him one without a co-signer (credit was 700, no collections, nothing bad on his credit). A few years later he was approved for a consolidation loan for $4,000 and used his vehicle as collateral. He has never been late with this loan the three years he has been paying on it. He has decent credit still, nothing in collections, 100% paying history. Today he tried to refinance the consolidation loan to add only $1,300 and asked that they would release the title of our car. They told him no to refinancing without a co-signer. They also refused to allow my income to be included to the refinance application even though we are married.. and due to our car no longer running they would only release the title IF he gave them the check for junking the car and showed proof with a receipt.
