"It is a shame that this place has been placed on the map as a destination. It is a man made and not very attractive dam, but it once had steelhead, crayfish, and birds which do not survive the impact of dogs and humans. Nor do the delicate ferns and other redwood undergrowth that people climb down to access the tiny pool. Additionally, Prescott Road was not designed for traffic and parking. It is a one lane road with few pullouts and no turnouts until the end. Skip the dam and go to the Bargetto winery (no affiliation). They have a lovely creekside deck."

"Yes, A trickle off cement makes water fall but not a waterfall. Best part was discovering the Buddhist retreat at the end of the precarious drive. Left pondering the irony of the closed gates, wire cluster at the fork in the road and zen balance with mankind. Eh, make of it what you want."

"Man made waterfall. Difficult to access base staircase is unsafe. On paper think waterfall is much larger than it is. If the car is parked near this location because the Buddhist temple parking is full then visit else there are better things to do such as 2 or 6 mile walk inside the temple area. That walk is very tranquil!"
