"My IRS / FTB tax forms are pretty basic. Nothing fancy. In the past I was paying $400 at Jill's (and knew it was probably too high, but ... just to be sure). This year I was quoted $750. My forms and pretty clear cut, nothing fancy. I decided to go to an AARP volunteer in the area. The supervisor couldn't believe I was quoted $750. Anyway, should have gone (will go) with AARP from now on. Sent them a $100 donation .. worth it. I like Jill and Co. and had been going to her for more than 10 years. Still, on a tight pension I had to look around. Seniors: Lots of free help out there."

"Not only are they slow and super slow at responding. There were also too many staff involved and not speaking to one another! Worst experience EVWR with taxes! Yet, when they want something they send you 10,000 emails! Then they overcharged me and made up some excuse. I took my business elsewhere and will not be using them or referring them."

"We used this accountant for 12 years and in the last year, our service went drastically down while our cost went drastically up. Jill provided direct service for 12 years without flaw, but in the last year switched us and other clients to full time service with her Enrolled Agent (like the folks at H&R Block), while still charging CPA rates ($400/hr). The quality of the accounting and bookkeeping severely declined - at one point, they processed a tax return for us and calculated $35k for a tax payment. We went through the return with another accountant and uncovered numerous errors, and the new accountant was able to get the tax payment to $8k after these errors were fixed. Though we told Jill about the errors, she denied any shoddy work on her EA's part. Needless to say, we had to fire Jill Jacobs. I think this used to be a good firm but they are trying to minimize value and increase rates, which ultimately does not serve clients. Buyer beware!"
