"I generally don't write reviews. I honestly believe the default of good service should be 5 stars, therefore, it's what I expect. In addition, if I wrote reviews, I wouldn't do it for at least 2 years (yes, I'm that critical). I believe in consistency and most establishments start to get a little too comfortable and, well, then you see what their real customer service is like. So, after going to Golden Hill Tax Solutions and working with Ed and Atsuko for about 3 years, I figured they had earned not only but my continued patronage, but also my support in the form of an online review. When I first started going to Ed,I must have sat with him for at least an hour and a half (because I had some many questions). He prides himself in what he does and he wants you to understand what he does and why he does it. He and Atsuko are always prompt, straightforward, and extremely helpful when that dreaded time of the year rolls around. As someone who was affected by the new laws for contractors, before I took on the position, Ed spent an hour explaining to me AB5, what I should research, what the rules were and to schedule times to come in so that I would know what to get and how to prepare for tax season. He gave sound advice when I asked him about forming an LLC (I didn't) and he did all of this at no charge. He just cares that much and I honestly appreciate someone who truly is in the business of looking out for his client's best interests. Aside from that example, over the years, I have always been able to email, text, call, light up the bat signal and he always takes his time to answer any question I have. I KNOW I've asked some silly questions and he answers every single one as thoroughly as possible. Remember what I said about 5 star service? Well, honestly, I don't get it from other businesses. Not consistently anyway. But I do with GHTS."
