"Been going here for years, really great customer service."
"Jimmy is the Man... I've been coming to this for all my Rigs lube services they are timely and on point when it comes to PM maintenance and are very honest about additional fluids and Filters... they keep records of my entire fleet and are always helpful."
"I'm writing this as a response to a car that jimmy sent to my business from so cal lube. Jimmy informed me he went to swap his 528 turbo diesel car to a gasoline powered platform and he couldn't get it to start up and run. He did ask how much it'd cost to get it going. As I explained to Jimmy its almost impossible to give an exact price on something that has been swapped and that we'd have to look at it in person. Jimmy informed us that he had a $500 budget in mind to get the car running. Shortly after Jimmy towed his car in and we looked over the car to get a baseline to see what'd take to get it going. His car was missing multiple parts, and was in rough mechanical condition minus a rebuilt engine. Even though his car was a basket case we told jimmy we were willing to work with him and stay as close to his budget as possible. At time time I told Jimmy the same thing I tell all my clients with custom builds, We can't give you an exact price and we cant give you an exact date of completion until we are closer to the car running on its own power. I also mentioned that I run a business that has a $27,000 a month overhead and the custom cars and projects only get worked on once a week. Our first course of action was to see what was keeping the car from firing up. My tech and I came to the conclusion that the c103 wiring connector on the fuse block was wired complety different from the diesel and gasoline model. Over the course of a 5 week period we searched to find a gasoline powered e28 that we could source a wiring pigtail for the fuse block. During this time I received a handful of phone calls from jimmy asking when the car was going to be ready. I explained to Jimmy that finding a connector off a 34 year old car does take some time because theyre not readily available and that we were looking for one that we could source. When we did receive the connector we wired it in to the fuse box and continued testing. We checked the dme(engine computer) for the power and ground inputs and they were present. Upon further inspection we found that the crank and vref sensors that bolt to the transmission were missing. We ordered the sensors and installed them onto the car. After having those sensors connected we checked the car for the injector pulse. We found that the car didn't have an injector pulse and that the injectors were only receiving 3.6 volts of power indicating that there was high resistance and further testing was needed. Shortly after this part of our diagnosis we stopped working on the car due to an passive aggressive post from Jimmy that was posted on facebook in one of the local bmw groups. I was contacted by multiple clients asking why this client was bashing us. At this point I had to draw a line and called Jimmy and told him we were no longer that we were willing to work on his car due to the passive aggressive post, along with trying to rush us on a project car with a very limited budget. I told Jimmy that he had three days to pick up the car otherwise we have to start charging storage due to the lack of parking that we have. Within two hours after our phone call jimmy came and called a tow truck to come get his car. As i'm not surprised by his review here is a couple things to consider. Jimmy works at a repair shop and could not get his own personal car running. He is an ase certified technician. He had unrealistic expectations for us to work on his car everyday until completed on a $500 budget as listed above. His car is a 1985 bmw 528td, sourcing parts for a car this old takes time. We did not charge him anything for our diagnosis. We did remove our parts from his car due to the fact that we did not want further issues down the road claiming that our were faulty or that he could've sourced them cheaper. Unfortunately we do get a bad client once in a blue moon and do the best we can to accommodate them. Its a no win situation at the end of day and the only thing we can do is tell our side of the story."
"Great service. Best prices in town and they use sealed brand new oil in the gallon! Spoke to Jimmy"
