Anna Carrillo, MD

"I saw Dr. Carrillo at one point in time. At that point, the psychiatrist that I had seen for 5 years retired and set up for me to see Dr. Carrillo. The first appointment she already wanted to change my medications, undermining my previous psychiatrist. Even on my first appointment, she was 30 minutes late. I didn't realize she was not even seeing another client until Dr. Carrillo strolled in the office with Starbucks, went in her office for another 15 minutes and then came to see me. She never apologized or even acknowledged her misstep. It is okay for doctors to do this, yet not for patients and she took advantage of that privilege. Dr. Carrillo's lack of consciousnessis and general apathy towards her clients was apparent early on. She had been late to every appointment, so seeing her 15 minutes late felt like a privilege. 15 minutes late is the "earliest" she had been. I understand that doctors are busy, but she kept me waiting when she was not even seeing a client Besides Dr. Carrillo herself, the office is not dutiful in their response time and is misinformed on the general principles of scheduling and getting prescriptions. Dr. Carrillo seemed arrogant on what should be done and prescribed, she didn't consider input from the client. If I has worked with a client for 5 years and things were going well, I would find it highly unethical to change these medications with little to no understanding of the client and the situation. Even though Dr. Carrillo is a psychiatrist and focuses mostly on medication, she lacks the abilities needed to build trust and a therapeutic relationship with the client. I am going through training to be a psychologist and although I am not far into this, I know some basic things that people in these fields should have. She would say, "Tell me about yourself" and would go on to question if I was remembering things correctly. I said when I was 4, blank happened and she said I couldn't have remembered that. Undermining and devaluating the client's claims without having any basis to doubt them is something a competent psychiatrist would ever do. Most people know this. You might think that being late and mismanaging time might skew my review of Dr. Carrillo, but she is not a good psychiatrist in general. She has no redeeming qualities as she lacks nearly every ability and knowledge a psychiatrist needs to have. TLDR: -Dr. Carrillo will not see you on time -Will not listen to your input on medications -Has an office that will not communicate with you and charge you for appointments she is late to -Does not show any signs of actually caring about her clients Don't see Dr. Carrillo and find a new doctor if you are seeing her. She will cause more damage to your mental health than good."
