"Dr. Lane can be a bit brusque. He was a doctor associated with the military. I worked for the research part of the U.S. Navy for a number of years. I rode subs, military aircraft and choppers. I know what it's like. I am an eighty one year old, his medical advise has improved my well being. I have a heartburn problem. He had me switch from Pepto Bismol, which acts on 5 symptoms, 4 of which I don't have, to Gaviscon ( over-the-counter) which is only for heartburn. The improvement has been significant. In addition he referred me to a gastroenterologist to make sure that I didn't have anything serious. The specialist was excellent. I only drink alcoholic beverages on weekends. I consider a weekend to start on Friday and end on Sunday. Dr. Lane brusquely advised me to cut my drinking from 3 days a week to 2 days. My weekend now starts on Saturday. My mental and physical acuity has definitely improved. I just drove 6700 miles (round trip) back east to my 60th college reunion with no problems! Dr. Lane is also a stickler for keeping up with your vaccinations. The only complaint I have , is related to his staff. Dr. Lane is a BMI (Body Mass Index) advocate. I am on the borderline so I feel my weight should be measured without wallet, watch, shoes, and cell phone - probably in my undies. Also my height is 4 inches less than it was 20 years ago because my back is bent and my knees don't straighten out. Therefore I don't think their number calculated for me is accurate. NEW I have had my yearly Wellness Exam with Dr. Lane two weeks ago. It was the most thorough exam of this type that I ever had. Most G.P.s seem to be bored and unhappy to perform this exam and don't like reading the recipe of required questions!"
