"Been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost 6 years now, and been at Street Sports Simi Valley since it's opened back in 2012. If you're coming in with experience, you'll find a slightly more laid back atmosphere than you might be used to. No emphasis on belt tying, bowing, saying sir or professor, etc. You'll find more of a friendship/family based training facility where we train HARD, work the fundamentals as well as the new innovative techniques, and then grab a spot on one of the couches afterwards to decompress with friends. For a beginner, you can expect a room full of people eager to help you learn and advance. You aren't considered "Fresh Meat" to get ran through the grinder. We're much more interested in helping you develop into a better training partner for all of us, and we're always looking for new friends and teammates. Becoming a member of Street Sports Simi Valley also means that you're becoming a part of something bigger. We have several Street Sports affiliate schools and often travel from school to school trading techniques, testing skills, and above all extending more friendships among our schools to build a larger family network.
