"Dr. Danae Lane is fantastic to work with. As a local resource parent (foster parent) I often take in kids of all ages with various sensory and adaptive needs. Most recently Dr. Lane supported me with a newborn infant placement. With her support I was able to feel confident in my ability to support baby and he is thriving. We worked on feeding including finding the right bottle and nipple size. We also worked to support his significant sensory needs using infant massage which helped us to bond and supported his growth. Finally we worked on building his strength for tummy time and other motor needs. At 3 months he is now thriving, meeting all of his milestones and growing so fast. With Dr. Lane's support we were able to move him from "medically fragile" to "normal baby checks" and I cannot ever say thank you enough! "My husband and I cared for our newborn foster son {Baby J} who was born with drug exposure. At one month of age, Baby J began to show signs of developmental delay during tummy time with an inability to use his arms, and he did not like his arms and back touched. The use of Baby J's arms was a huge concern since he was unable to develop muscle strength needed to crawl and lift. Danae provided infant massage therapy techniques, developmental activities for both immediate needs and long term development, and connected me with virtual resources. Danae also gave recommendations for additional care when it appeared necessary. Under Danae's care, Sweet Baby J progressed from not wanting to be touched to enjoying the massage therapy as part of his daily routine, especially his bed time routine and relaxed with the techniques. He also went from holding his arms in constant state of flexed muscles extended outward from his sides and unable to use his arms to relaxing his arms and using them to push his body upward while in tummy time. Without Danae's help, I know Baby J would not have been equipped to overcome the many hurdles he encountered, and I would not have known how to guide and work with him daily for early intervention of his developmental delays. Danae was also extremely sensitive to Baby J's sensory and unique developmental needs due to the drug exposure. I would trust Danae with any of the children who come into my home with developmental needs.
