"Susan Van Allan was my therapist for about 5 months. I came scared anxious worried and ruminating. I barely could recognize myself. Susan helped me working through my trauma. Conquering my anxiety regarding my divorce and I regained strengths and calmness and happiness again. Without Susan I would never ever have come out of it!!! "Overpriced. They care for your mental health but not your financial health. If you miss based on an emergency they’ll still charge you. despite the fact it’s all online it’s still the same price as in person. Turned me off from therapy as a whole."

"Awful billing and business practices....great counseling. Despite the excellent counseling services provided by my therapist, I regret to report that the billing and business practices at Octave have been highly unsatisfactory. I have experienced significant delays in billing, with a backlog of two months, and to date, claims for services rendered since March 1st have not been submitted to my insurance company. This has caused significant inconvenience as I have been charged directly and unable to use my FSA or have the costs applied towards my deductible. I was also disappointed to find that the claim submission process was not as seamless as advertised, given that Octave is supposed to be an in-network provider. Additionally, their pricing lacks transparency, with the cost of sessions increasing from $205 to $255 without any prior notice. Despite leaving several voicemails and emails, I have not received any response from Octave. As someone who has built a trusted relationship with my therapist over the past six months, it is disheartening that I will have to discontinue my services with Octave due to their unethical business practices. Stay away from this business."

"Shame on this place for gatekeeping mental health treatment. I found numerous professionals on my insurance websites list that work with Octave. It took their people 2 months to get back to me after filling out their forms. After the intake process was done, they told me I'd be contacted in 2 weeks AT THE LATEST. It took another MONTH and I had to call THEM multiple times just to be acknowledged. After they FINALLY found a "doctor" to pair me with, I realized they had completely ignored everything I told them. They paired me with a LMFT (marriage and family therapist.) FROM THE BEGINNING I informed them very honestly that I suffer from severe PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma. I even gave them the names of 4 Dr's that looked like good options. I was told by Erica that because I had inconsistencies with my eating that they would ONLY focus on treating me for an eating disorder. I've never even been diagnosed with an eating disorder! I had to do ALL the work just to be spoken to, and in the end, mental health treatment from credible Dr's was gatekept from me. Shame on Octave. Shame on Erica. Avoid this place at all costs, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. A person shouldn't have to jump through 2 months of hoops and ignorance just to be told somebody else gets to decide what you're treated for. Disgusting. This place needs to be shut down. Edit: Well, I gave Octave a chance, and after a month I sincerely regret it. They paired me with a mediocre "professional" and when I dared to request a new therapist. Ashley Woodhull, their Clinical Operations Manager, contacted me and told me to look elsewhere because there's nobody who can help me. These people have 700+ Doctors and there's not ONE that can help me? I need mental health treatment. I need support. Octave truly is gatekeeping mental health treatment. Shame on this place. I will absolutely make sure to warn people about this place."

"They work very well with my insurance. Hence, making mental health treatment accessible for many patients. I only cover the copay on every visit. I would give them 5 stars had they choose to work with secondary insurance too from CDPH that covers copay for every visit."
