"I often wish folks in the bike community were a bit kinder, and my experience here really brought that to light. Bike Connection declined to fix a flat because I disclosed to them that the tire was on an e-bike brand they didn’t sell. (I suspect if I had just come in with only the wheel itself, that it would’ve been fine.) That’s understandable, of course. The disrespect I felt, however… when they immediately hung up on me (and being told not to call back), while I stood in the rain desperately looking for a shop that would patch a tube, really shows how we could share a bit more human kindness. The headset had all kinds of play in it and I couldn't fix it (neither could the dudes at Mikes Bikes that I brought it to first). Jason at Bike Connection wasn't phased one bit. He got straight to work (I didn't have an appointment) and within 20 minutes had sorted it all out and my bike was working better than when I bought it in the first place.
