"The parking is excellent, and the customer service is outstanding! The interior is tidy and well-arranged. However, I must rate them lower due to the absence of a customer restroom, which is unacceptable. It's puzzling that they don't provide this basic amenity. Whoever is responsible for facilities management should improve this aspect. They should make this change immediately as there are lots of elderly people who go to the bank and or people with children."

"Recently I visited the branch in Downey. I requested a letter stating the date I opened the account, my current balance and the deposits made through all 2022. Melanie was very helpful and did not hesitate on helping me even though I heard some other staff member saying “we don’t do that kind of stuff”, she told her coworker she didn’t mind helping me with the letter. Waited a couple of minutes and provided the letter I needed. I recommend Melanie 100%!!!"

"When I first joined, the staff were friendly and the rates were good. Being able to exchange change in machine for deposits or cash was a nice feature. However, over the years, customer service went downhill. Rude agents, bank errors not taking my ach deposit, and not being able to access account online as only a savings account."

"I've been a member since 2015. For the most part I had enjoyed my services with Southland Credit Union but I've come to not like calling for Customer Service when I need something. Most members I have spoken to over the phone are rude and do the bare minimum to offer help especially with issues with accounts or for example disputing charges. It's extremely hard as it is right now with Covid because the branches are open 9 AM to 6 PM Weekdays only and have been closed on Saturdays for sometime now. It makes it hard to actually get things done if you need to see someone. Most things cannot be done over the phone which is frustrating but understandable but most of us work the hours that the branches are open during the weekdays and with the closure on Saturdays it's become very difficult to bank. I tried to do a car loan with Southland recently and the whole process was a complete mess. Mainly for me the customer service is what's become terrible and the fact that they closed branches on Saturday's has made banking so difficult is why I decided to leave this credit union and go to another."
