"Mayo Clinic will always put money ahead of patient care. My fiancé was a passenger in a severe car accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Mayo Clinic has cancelled his follow up appointments because he is a student and uninsured. The accident only happened a few days ago and following up after a traumatic brain injury is vital within the following days and weeks. However Mayo Clinic cancelled his follow up appointments because they have not received information on the liable party and whom to bill, as the accident happened only a few days ago this information is not yet available. Ridiculous. Avoid Mayo Clinic at all cost as they will always put money before your health."

"Won't take referrals from Chiropractors for Physical Therapy. I did this for years in a different part of the state, and wouldn't want an MD managing my physical therapy for the conditions I have. This is a mayo specific policy. Oppressive and elitist, and probably not better than other providers."

"Not impressed after not being able to get a response back from anyone. So took the next step going outside of facilities for a Second Opinion and when I called a few months later to follow up with a problem. I was told Mayo Cardiology had Discharged me months ago. Never, Not once did I say I was transferring care I had requested a second opinion trying to get to the source of the problem. Confirmed my suspicions with request of second opinion now it has been a senseless battle with Mayo to get on the same page. Hopefully this is a fair warning to anyone who requests a second opinion. "Let’s start with clarity here. This hospital system is “Mayo” in name only. It really is a hospital group called Luther and was bought out. It’s is not world class. I wouldt put up against a public hospital in an urban area. I would trust them with my cat. It’s substandard. The doctors are passive and not advocating for their patients health. The nurses are rude and and dismissive. The administration is more concerned about their “feelings” then the quality of care afforded to their patients . Today for example , I was told by a nurse that my wife’s doctor wouldn’t talk to me unless we were both in the same room. Well, that’s weird because I have a full medical proxy and the fact is I’ve been along for the ride with my terminal wife for a year as “ Faux Mayo” has fumbled her care over and over again. It’s insulting. At the end of the day I can not wait to get my wife out of that place. And as to you, if your reading this and you have serious health concerns, go to the UW in Madison or to Minneapolis for real quality care. These folks, they know not what they do. Consider yourself warmed."
