"This school through out the years has changed in staff, teachers, and along with principals. For some crazy reason this school has a very bad staff turn around. Several things I want to point out as far as for remodeling the school I dont think that's going to happen, last time I heard a few years back was that the school was going to be shut down for insufficient funding which I agree because the school actually has kids asking parents for fundraising money for school instead of doing what I did back in my school years, was to sell candy in order to make the funding more interesting. Now they just give the kids a paper that states please help me with donating money to help with more trips for the school year, Which I thought the school provided those regardless of what the situation is. Well another thing I would like to point out is bullying and tolerance behavior as well as for that situation my brother was bullied and had to be taken to the hospital about expelling the kid they didn't take proper care of the situation which I would of love to confront the parent so we can also arrange the situation and maybe have the kid apologized so my brother would feel more comfortable participating in school another thing the School itself looks like it doesn't even care for the dafety of the students, with no speed bumps around the whole school what's so ever. There is no crossing guards or speed limit signs, or at least stop signs with lights for the kid's safety. The afterschool program is a joke, it has NO GROWN adults educating our kids. ITS KIDS educating kids, Kids "teachers" which are on their cell phones most of the time, and worst of all they dont help kids with their homework. All I see is the kids wondering around outside of the classrooms and running around even inside the rooms.. while the teens are in their phones which makes me think they dont have a clue of what the students are doing,That program shouldn't even be as a choice for the school because that right there shows that it's a waste of money on that after school program like that So yes I can agree with that. One star viewers that there's no point of the school to still be open for the public, but again we have to realize that it's the closes, most convenient to the neighborhood which I'm guessing that's the only reason why they keep it open, because other than that the Performance of a school education and after school programs, fund raising and Pedestrian cross walking, it's a very very poor school. That school and school district is so bad, I have teachers telling me they are retiring early because they disagree with what is happening and also with how they want teachers to teach students. There is no more time for one on one time with teachers and students. Now either students learn and keep up with time schedule for classes, or they stay behind. They put most of it now on parents.."
"My niece attends this school as a second grader and has been harassed and bullied by one girl for 2 years. This school has a very poor way of handling conflict, and have not done anything to quell the issue even after we've brought it up to the principal and district multiple times. Keep that in mind before you send your child here."
"My kindergarden year was the early 80s wow I remember ms. Abadaca. And i never forget lucha"
"Not the best school , & their after school program needs to be with much older adults who know what they are doing & can well discipline the kids into being friendly with other students. Half of the students don't even know what respect is."
"They foster youth learning and they push for more education. It has been California Distinguished before. Their GATE program is exemplar and I would recommend it for anyone who's child is given the opportunity."
