"The breakfast sucked same thing every day so when I got here I requested a 12:00 check out because I was only going to be here Monday Tuesday Wednesday and checking out on Thursday and my next hotel I was going to because I travel for work was only an hour and 20 minutes away and 11:00 the janitorial staff comes knocking on my door I told him it was a 12:00 check out and then 10 minutes later they call my room and I tell them it's a 12:00 check out they just bugged the hell out of you other than that the hotel is great just the staff sucks"

"Friendliest staff! Always were greeted at the front desk! The room was large with a microwave, stove, and refrigerator. Clean. The breakfast area was roomy. There are many options. We stayed here for several days during WDE. Would stay again!"

"I would not recommend this hotel if you are expecting an option for a late checkout or an option for having the hotel hold your luggage for a few hours after checkout. I stayed here when I visited Wisconsin in 2018 and had a pleasant experience back then. That experience had motivated me to choose Mainstay Suites in Fitchburg when I was traveling to Wisconsin this month for a friend's wedding. Pros of my stay this time: Wonderful breakfast, clean hotel, many amenities in the room, and clean pool/hot tub. However, I took off three stars for the management's lack of flexibility on my last day of stay. I ended up catching a fever and missing my friend's wedding on the day before my checkout. When I requested the front desk that I pay an extra fee so that I could get some rest to recover from my fever and check out of the hotel later in the afternoon, the gentleman refused it, stating that, "we have to clean the rooms before 3pm; we don't allow later checkouts." I then asked the gentleman at the front desk if he could hold my bags after checkout--he refused that request, too, due to "liability issues with holding baggage." I have never experienced staying in a hotel that refused a paid late checkout or declined to hold a guest's bags after checkout--many guests have flights late in the evening and they likely do not want to sit around for 10 hours watching their large suitcases. While my experience here in 2018 was great and the stay was mostly pleasant during this visit, my experience on my last day diminished my view of this hotel. I was physically ill during my checkout, and the staff made no effort at all to take my money (I wasn't expecting to have these accommodations for free!) and accommodate me for a later checkout or for holding my baggage for a few hours after checkout. Due to this unpleasant experience, I may research a different hotel option whenever I visit Wisconsin again in the future."

"My son was travelling to Madison, to attend a friend's wedding, for which we had booked this hotel MainStay Suites Fitchburg - Madison for FIVE days, due to its great reviews, however trouble in paradise started when he developed fever on 5th night stay. On my son's behalf, I called the hotel and Joann (an angel) spoke with me. I requested her to give a late check out at 3:00 pm (as his flight was at 6:00 pm), for an extra charge, to which she did agree for $65 extra, however wanted my son to go down to complete formalities + payment. Joann was even kind to find a thermometer in the drawer for him. My son was sleeping tight in his room, even unable to stand, and unable to go at the time, however willing to complete the formalities + make extra payment the next morning, during Breakfast time, which was informed to Joann. Come breakfast time, the next day, when my son went to the reception counter for extra payment, there was a man there who REFUSED to honor any of angel Joann's words (was even surprised that she mentioned all that). He said that he can extend the late checkout to 11:30 only and my son could sit in the hotel business center until 3:00 pm. I then called MainStay hotel reservations and asked to extend my booking for an extra day. The reservations responded that my sick son will have to check out at 11:30 and then can have an early check in at 1:00 pm. They wanted a sick boy to go through all this activity, instead of resting because he had fever. My Son with great difficulty, some how managed to check out at 11:30 and went straight to the airport to rest there. Otherwise a great hotel, however lacks Kindness and Humanity. Enjoy the hotel, however do not fall sick here."
