"My wife and I arrived at the hospital on 2/1 and stayed until 2/5. Once my wife was fully dilated she was advised to start pushing. After almost 2 hours of pushing there was an RN that would come and assist. This RN would get very excited and say how great of a job my wife was doing. The nurse actually told the RN to stop. This was very inappropriate as my wife had not been making any progress due to our son being sunny side up. This was giving my wife, her mother and I all false hope. After deciding to quit pushing and go the route of having a c section, the Doctor told us it would be 20 min till the surgery. A whole hour would go by before seeing anyone. During the c section, which my wife was in tremendous pain we heard a lady say "it's time to evict this kid, no one wants you anymore". We both found that to be very unprofessional as well as disrespectful to our child. While in labor our main nurse who was actually in the O.R. during the surgery had asked us what vaccines we were wanting to give our child. We specifically said "none". We even said no to the few she described to us (one being the Hep B). This nurse however ended up giving our son the Hep B vaccine. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. I definitely expect something to be done about this. I have spoken with a lawyer. We do not want to go down that path, but it's been a very difficult thing to deal with. Our son hasn't shown any side effects as I understand it is a very safe vaccine. That however is besides the point. You have professionals in the O.R. room who are not doing there job. We pay a premium price for insurance and the best care at which Aurora should be offering. We feel taken advantage of at this point. The problems however don't stop there. During our third night (second with our son) we had a nurse that was very unhelpful. We actually didn't even end up meeting her until 2.5 hours after a shift change. At one point she could clearly see that my wife was uncomfortable and in pain. While trying to reposition herself in the bed the nurse asked if she needed help and before my wife could even answer she said "oh it looks like you got it". The nurse then just continued to type away on the computer. I couldn't believe it. My wife was just cut open and could barely move. I helped her the best I could but we definitely could have used that nurses help. That was the worst night there as she gave us times that she would be back to do her routine checks on our son. We had tried to plan the nursing around that schedule. That nurse was never on time and never apologized or explained why she wasn't there. Numerous times when going to the nurses station I was barely acknowledged. Trying to make eye contact was near impossible. I would have to get a nurses attention when they clearly new I was there with a question. It got to a point where I felt like I was a burden. On about three different occasions I heard nurses complain about how they were so tired from having to go back and forth between rooms. One said out loud how tired she was and could use a nap. These women are supposed to be caring for our new born children. Is this perhaps why my son was given a vaccine we didn't approve of. It makes me wonder if the hospital over working then or are they just not wanting to do there job? The lack of professionalism at labor and delivery is baffling to say the least. There were a couple of good nurses that made the stay pleasant at times. Unfortunately a majority of it was a nightmare and we couldn't wait to go home. I felt so terrible for my wife and child. The amount of stress that these situations caused them is disappointing. I definitely be exploring other options for when we have our next child."

"In July I had to bring my husband to E.R. Shortly after doctor saw my husband, the doctor advised me to call our family if they wanted to come. My husband had cancer and doctor told me that he now had pneumonia and outlook wasn't good. The E.R. department was great. They did eventually move him up to 3rd floor room 333. Our family can't say enough good about nursing staff. They were all kind, caring and and professional. Also doing everything to make him comfortable even trying to care about me, cause I stayed by my husband's side for 15 day's. The house keeper who cleaned his room was just as great keeping room thoroughly clean. Dietary even did what they could. Security was extremely caring ( especially the one who towered over everyone. Who told me he would keep us in his prayers) when came time to bring my husband home. Staff fought there hardest to make sure he could make it home. When the EMT's came to get us. Staff made sure he had a great send off home, by giving well wishes, kind comments and even some hugs and tears. It was heart warming and welcomed. I want to thank all of the departments and staff for caring heartfelt efforts to be able to get my husband home where he was able to be with his caring family and pass comfortably two days later."

"One star is a lot for this review. I’ve had many encounters with this hospital. Quite frankly, it is disgusting. The carpeted floors are stained horribly, especially the ER. I’m not quite sure why it is carpeted there in the first place. If you’re in the ER, all you hear is everyone laughing and making gossip in the nurses station. Almost everyone is extremely rude in the ER Dept (with the exception of the front desk and a small handful of others. (Dr. Boyer is the best)). You can often wait hours on end to hear anything from anybody. I understand it is busy but the amount of time you for anything is crazy. I had a really good experience with my gallbladder surgery. I was in and out before I knew it and didn’t even feel like I had surgery. So that was 5 stars. I think the ER is the main problem. I haven’t had much experience with other departments besides the outpatient surgery. I definitely don’t recommend the hospital for the emergency Dept."
