"Taxi arrived on time, but once en route, driver quoted me a cash price for twice the amount that had been quoted over the phone. When I told him I didn’t have that amount of cash, he pulled over to the side of the street, to have me get out. This was about a mile away from my home. I an elderly, with recent heart surgery, and require a walker. I was completely shocked, especially in lieu of prior positive reviews. I told him if he took me to the destination, I would find an ATM to get more cash. (My phone was not working at the time so I really felt I had to stay with him). He then did continue driving, but dropped me 5 long LA blocks away from my destination. And no, I did not get him more $$. But please, beware…perhaps because I am an elderly woman..vulnerable… this driver felt as though he could not only intimidate, but also extort."
