Mequon Family Pharmacy

"This pharmacy is gouging consumers for drugs that are hard to find. They will only dispense generic vyvance (hard-to-find drug) with a "Convenience fee". Even my doctors office have said that they've never heard of a pharmacy charging a "Convenience Fee". Today I called at least twelve pharmacies on behalf of my Autistic and ADHD son - looking for (hard-to-find) Vyvance (Lisdexamphetamine). I spoke to "Mequon Family Pharmacy" on Friday lunchtime and was told they had 26 pills. I agreed that I would take the 26 count and was on my way to pick up after work, when I received a call at 4:45pm on a Friday to say that they would charge me a $30 convenience fee on top of my insurance copay - since the medicine was rare and they had to make a profit. They told me that the drug cost them $80 wholesale and to sell it at retail would cost them $60 - so they would have to charge me a "Convenience Fee" to make up their profit shortfall. If I would have been told that - much earlier in the day - I could have called other Pharmacies to find the drug. It is absolutely disgusting that a Pharmacy would charge a "Convenience fee" for difficult to find prescription drugs at 4:45 on a Friday just because 'they can'. My autistic Son has gone without medicine for the past three days because Lisdexamphetamine is hard to find. He will continue to be without medicine for at least another three days because of Mequon Family Pharmacy. "Mequon-Family-Pharmacy" are unethically and possibly illegally charging a surcharge for drugs that are hard to find. I'm appalled and have filed a formal complaint with the relevant Pharmacy licensing authorities. Stay clear of these utterly despicable (and anything but family) shysters."

"Changed their (already expensive and unjustified) policy without informing patients before they filled their prescriptions; so I payed more than five times what I would pay at any other pharmacy. When I tried to ask why they didn’t let me know before I filled it, they stubbornly replied that “that’s their policy” as if it didn’t *just* change, and repeatedly let me know I “was welcome to fill them at another pharmacy”. Believe me, all of my other meds are filled anywhere else, I wouldn’t come here if there were any other pharmacy that had the medication I need. But I won’t be coming back, they could have been understanding and empathetic rather than rude."
