"Compared to other outpatient surgical experiences, our experience at Oakleaf Surgical Center was exceptional until it wasn't. The post op protocols for outpatient surgery at the facility are rushed (1 hour from out of the OR to going home). That seems to be a very rushed discharge timeline for someone who has never had surgery and was administered several new medications. Another disappointment was Oakleaf's post-op "on the sidewalk" patient caregiver reunification protocol. I requested 2x to be able to see the patient, my husband, in person before going home (1 hr drive home) due to concerns about possible medication interactions as he had never had surgery before and had never had many of the drugs given to him, including 2 different opioids and I was denied both times. Had the pre-op nurse been with the patient in the PACU it would have been less concerning. PACU nurse had zero interactions with the patient prior to surgery and was not present for the conversations regarding medication and general concerns that took place prior to surgery. Caregivers should be allowed an opportunity, even 10 minutes, to be able to assess their loved ones and share any concerns with the health care professionals before going home. Following surgery there was zero follow up from anyone at Oakleaf. There was a slight issue with the medication used by the anesthesiologist and thankfully Dr. Daniels staff were able to address it. Dr. Daniels and his team at Evergreen Surgical were outstanding and have provided a high level of care. I would highly recommend Dr. Daniels. As far as Oakleaf Surgical Hospital, the registration and pre-op processes were smooth. Staff, nurses, and anesthesia were great to work with but I would not recommend using Oakleaf Surgical for patients and caregivers new to surgery or for those that prefer a more personable and conservative approach to post op/discharge. In the words of my husband the patient "That experience was stick'em, slice em, stitch em, and send'em. Clearly a business process to move people through as fast as possible."""

"My husband had a prostate procedure surgery done on Jan 5. He barely got out of recovery and they were dressing him to go home. I could tell he was not coherent. We got home and he went to bed. From then on it was down hill. By Wednesday I had him at his family dr and local hospital. More tests and sent home with antibiotics. By Saturday I had to get the ambulance cause he was deathly sick shaking and coughing and throwing up and freezing. Today Tuesday we are still here where he will be for a while. He had a yeast infection in the blood that his blood oxegon kept dropping. They the doctors told me he could have died and still not well. Not a single follow up after surgery from Oak Leaf. They may have a fancy new building but I would nottake a sick rat there for surgery and I'm not thru with them yet."

"Surgeons arrogant & treat you like they're God's gods gift. Now have crp syndrome because of months of untreated failed hardware. Had to physically grab surgeons hand to exam me. "OH must of missed that" second opinion after looking at my xrays doesn't even know what dr burschback was "trying to fix" ulnar extension wasn't needed. Have to go to Madison to correct now. They just get your money and do not care. Lawyers are now invloved. Plenty of empty open promises "I'll have you ready by golf season" here we are in worse shape than going in."

"This place is incredible, it is by far the best hospital experience I have ever had. They truly do treat you right and make you feel very welcome. All of the pre and post of Medcial professionals and the front desk lady Joy were truly exceptional. I was nervous when traveling out of state to see Dr. Immerman, but if you are worried, do not be you are in amazing hands!"

"Incredible surgical center, beautiful, clean and the support staff, doctors and nurses are so knowledgeable and patient. Our surgeon, Dr. Stewart, is skilled and such a great bedside manner! We are grateful for his help in getting my husband a new hip and the hope of a more mobile future. Thank you, OakLeaf, for your care and also for the delicious food and coffee while we stayed here!"
