"So my 93 year old Mom decides to check into assisted living, and asks me to liquidate her “Reed & Barton Pointed Antique cutlery for 12 settings”. I’m not Martha Stewart, I’m Oscar from the Odd Couple. It has been so long since I did a transaction on EBAY, that they terminated my account. So, selling the set on EBAY, with no seller-reputation, would not have been easy. I found Antique Cupboard on EBAY. Reached out via an email with pictures. They made an offer, ran it by Mom, who suggested a counter-offer, which A.C. accepted. I drove up from suburban Chicago, to Big Bend. Angela was great to deal with, and actually paid more, as there were around 132 pieces instead of just 98. If she hadn’t said anything, I would be none the wiser. Plus, Angela found one damaged knife handle, which would have been a problem for me, had I somehow managed to sell the set online. As a niche handyman, I live and die by reviews. I saw all the positive Google reviews for A.C. and my mind was made up. This is basically a once in a lifetime transaction for me, and I did not need all the headaches. Some of the listings for cutlery on EBAY, showed they had been listed for over a year. Angela told me, in some cases, products can be on the site for 2 years before selling. That was a headache I did not want."
