"They hold on to as much of your deposit making up reasons. They charge me $75 for throwing my garbage in the apartments dumpster and $65 because they say the mini blinds had dust."

"The 1 star that I give has nothing to do with the property itself. The property is located in a nice quiet area. The tenants are nice and quiet. Its a smaller building kept up fine. I give it a 1 star due to the management, who I feel are unfair and not right people. These studio apartments come with one assigned parking space for tenants, which is nice. There is nothing in the lease or contract stating you can't have a car cover or that you have to drive your car everyday to work. I purchased a nice new vehicle about 4 months after I moved there. I kept my other vehicle and kept it parked on the streets. I sometimes drive to work or catch bart, since I work in a different city. 1st Issue: They told me I could not have a car cover. They took the car cover off my car and placed it on the ground next to my car before I had the opportunity to take it off myself and return it to the store to get my money back. When I asked the manager why they took my car cover off the manager said the "wind" probably blew it off. Now, I said to myself I'm an intelligent, educated black woman of color...I'm far from stupid. Any person with half a brain knows that the wind can't blow off the car cover that was latched on that easy. And a day or two before that they just told me I couldn't have it on my car, then suddenly the cover appears on the ground next to my car. Why didn't the wind blow the cover away then? It was on the ground next to my car as if it was placed there. SMH. It wasn't even windy enough to blow it. But I just left that as is and took my car cover back to the store (even though management was completely wrong. The lease did not state no covers). 2nd Issue: The manager starts calling me a week later telling me I have to drive my car every day. Now, I find this to be petty. Other tenants that live there do not drive their cars ever day, which I knew for a fact from communicating with them and seeing their cars there every day. I told the manager that I felt I was being harrased and other tenants do not drive every day. She tried to tell me yes they do, which was a lie. She blamed it on the owner saying he is old school. And I guess she felt like she was dealing with someone of a lesser intelligence because she also said it was in the lease. When I said it is not in the lease I read it, and I feel like I am being harrased, then told her the owner could contact me to discuss (since she was blaming everything on the owner); she then was like no, it's fine. 3rd Issue: I was not surprised, but I was upset when I received my notice stating that my lease was coming up and to be out by that date. I knew this all had to do with the petty issues mentioned above, which I truly feel I was just picked on. I called the manager to ask her and she confirmed that the car issue is reason why the they decided not to renew my lease. And again she says the owner is "old school " and he has done this to other people she said. Some power trip these folks are on...But I am a beautiful stong, intelligent black woman who stood up for myself and clearly the manager didn't like me because of it. It's perfectly fine because it goes to show what kind of people they are. There is a lot more I could say, but I don't need to bring her/them down any lower. I truly believe in Karma and you can't do people wrong just because of the power as a manager or owner you have. I paid my rent on time, was clean, quiet, peaceful, kept to myself, and never bothered management about fixtures, etc. I was a great tenant who stood up for myself and the manager didn't like me because of it. I thank God I have a man who loves me who I'm engaged to. Otherwise, with this expensive housing market it would have been a struggle. To Linda (Delta Apt. Manager), I hope you get a caring heart soon. Peace."
