"Community is good but appliances / amenities including laundry are quite old and not entirely operational. Minor Maintenance requests are addressed quickly but for major ones with plumbing drain, etc. it will take several days and the office used to snub saying "you can always use the second bathroom". The floor base is so old and fragile that the toilet commode in our neighbor on first floor fell downstairs inside the bathroom of the ground floor flats and caused a huge mess. Even ours was following this trend but the ground floor neighbor noticed at the right time, the water dripping below our commode and then it went through ceiling plastering / flooring work, etc. for 5 days. Finally, the management's move out security deposit refund process is a nightmare. They charge exorbitant rates for fixing normal wear and tear. Many of the neighbors who moved out during our stay used to express frustration that they could increase the rental rates rather than being competitive there and finally extorting unfair amount during move-out."

"One star for the management. Very rude and not resident friendly at all. In our building ( a group of 12 houses), one of the houses had some huge leakage problem and plumbers were working on it and in the meantime the water supply was shut off to stop anymore flooding in that apartment. Any regular apartment management would have called to inform about this, as it was about in the morning on a weekday. We had no idea as to why the water wasn’t coming while we wanted to get ready and leave for our day. I tried calling the office but they were irresponsive to the calls. I walked down to the office and that’s when they told me about the issue. I raised to them that informing other residents so we could work around that should have been a top priority (water was going to be down for an hour according to them) and shouldn’t have been so difficult with 4 people available in the office that day. Her reply very rudely back was the apartments are fine and they do not need to that do that and their service was never questioned before. (Google reviews has a lot to say otherwise) I asked them what’s more important that informing residents, and they said “keeping our buildings from falling apart”. So please be aware that even though the rent is on the lower side, the management office is very rude and has no respect for residents at all. They shouted and shut the door on my face. When I went back, the same lady would not open the door and sent another lady. Would give a lower rating if Google allowed it."

"I've been at Olive West for 3 months and so far I'm super satisfied. The amenities, space, and design is heads and shoulders better than most apartments in the area. The cost is fair and staff are friendly. I've seen a dozen apartments in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara and this one has been my favorite by far."

"The apartment is alrite and like any other basic apartments in CA . The apartment complex is gated, however during the day the gates are kept open ; so the concept of gates can give one a false sense of security. Residents have lost their Amazon parcels, even mails from the mailboxes. The mailbox is very flimsy so it can be easily broken into. However the worst thing about this place is nothing to do with the apartment quality, for the given rent the apartment is decent. The most frustrating part of living in this complex is dealing with the Management, they are not only COLD but extremely unhelpful. Their ways of solving issues are very manual and outdated. They come across as someone who would like to push over a problem and end up creating more problems then solve it. Their attitude is not customer centric. There are facilities available on the premises, but to use them you have to deal with their mgmt ; from booking the facility , to getting entry in the recreation room . That experience is extremely frustrating. While access to the Recreation room is available until 8pm , you could use it only till 5pm because there is no one in the office to open the door for you. The digital key access is blocked as they want to monitor the usage of the room. So if you wish to use the facilities, it will depend on the availability of their staff and not on your need . A place which is in the heart of the Silicon Valley having such a manual and outdated process of monitoring is shocking. In spite of reaching out to the mgmt and expressing concerns , they refuse to get up to date. The only reason people might prefer to stay is due to slightly lesser rent compared to the market value. Given a better choice, pls avoid this place."

"Undoubtedly the best apartments in terms of “value for money”. The Community amenities are the best in the business. The community lush green lawns and the greenery are well maintained. The main downsides are there is no in-unit washer/dryer and there is no central AC."
