About the Business

Chula Vista Vet Center

Chula Vista Vet Center, located at 180 Otay Lakes Road in Bonita, California, is a community-based counseling center that provides a wide range of social and psychological services to eligible Veterans, service members, and their families. The center offers individual, group, marriage, and family counseling, as well as referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services. The experienced counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are prepared to discuss the challenges of war, loss, grief, and transition after trauma.

The center offers confidential support for Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost in a relaxed, non-medical setting. Services include counseling for needs such as depression, PTSD, and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma. The center can also connect individuals with more support in the VA and the community. All services are strictly confidential.

In addition to the main center, there are 83 Mobile Vet Centers (MVC) that provide outreach to eligible individuals in communities that are distant from existing services. These large mobile vehicles offer confidential counseling and can access records through an encrypted connection. The MVCs are often called upon to support VA in providing emergency services in response to national emergencies and disasters.

For those in need of immediate assistance, there is a free, around-the-clock confidential call center at 1-877-927-8387 where Veterans, service members, and their families can talk about their military experience or any other issue they are facing in transitioning after military service or trauma and get connected to their nearest Vet Center. The call center team is comprised of combat Veterans from several eras as well as family members of Veterans.

In FY 2023, over 115,000 individuals received readjustment counseling at VA's Vet Centers, totaling nearly 1.3 million service encounters. The teams also engaged with over 162,000 people through outreach activities. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to providing support and resources to those in need. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, visit VeteransCrisisLine.net for more resources.
