Sherwood Oaks Apartments

"After being in San Anselmo for 11 years, we found ourselves needing to relocate due to previous landlords' nasty divorce. The same day we saw our apartment and met Julie, the Property Manager, we signed the lease. We're grateful to have found our place and settle in. Having management on site is nice too. Julie is so sweet! She is accessible, responsive and easy to talk to. There is always clear communication and it's never intrusive. I definitely recommend Sherwood Oaks!"

"My family and I lived in the Sherwood Oaks Apartments managed by Meridian Management Group. We gave one month notice before leaving. We paid for a cleaning service to make sure we left the place the way we found it. However, when I asked for a walk through of the apartment I was told that one would not be done and that we would not be receiving any part of our deposit back. We broke the lease by one month and they would not be returning any part of the deposit. I looked over our rental agreement and it wasn't stated there that we would forfeit our deposit for breaking our lease. In fact it was clearly stated that it was based on the state of the apartment once we left. So far I have tried reaching out to the property manager and the company itself and no one will return my call. STAY AWAY!!"

"Sherwood Oak Apartments is in the heart of downtown Fairfax. Easy walk to shops, coffee shops, restaurants, hikes and parks. It is a very well maintained property and has beautiful views of redwood trees. Julie, the property manager is very professional, responds quickly to any maintenance needs, keeps the property very clean and is very kind to everyone!"

"Sherwood Oaks is in a fantastic location. The neighborhood has lots of cool restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. It's also close to hiking and biking trails. Commute to the city is not bad at all. Without traffic, you can get over the Golden Gate bridge in about 35 minutes. I averaged around 40-45 minutes when there is traffic. The manager, Julie, is very helpful, friendly, always available, and responds quickly to maintenance requests. The maintenance staff, Santos and Julie (too) are also friendly and helpful. They really care about making sure the apartments are attended to. The only reasons for the missing fifth star are the soundproofing and the tight parking spots. I found solutions to the sound problem by installing soundproof curtains and soundproof foam under throw rugs. It didn't do away with the neighbor sounds completely, but it definitely helped."

"I’ve lived at Sherwood Oaks for several years. Property has nice amenities like a pool and barbecue area. Close to the downtown area of Fairfax and good hiking and biking trails. Apartments have some upgraded features like new kitchen cabinets and double-pane windows. Management has changed recently and I’ve noticed a drastic improvement in the maintenance of the property. Julie, the new manager, is friendly and professional and always available during office hours (even later sometimes). Since she took on the job a few months ago, the property is always spotless and any issues I’ve had, like a broken sink, have been resolved very quickly (within 24 hours). I wanted to write this to give her the kudos she deserves. Would highly recommend the building if you’re interested in the area."
