"I appreciate the covid19 protocols, However the new appointment system makes it very challenging for people who have to take fasting blood draws, at specific times a day. due to the limitation of the appointment system only so many people can be have a blood draw early in the morning. Especially since they're only in 15 minute increments. This specific laboratory also has a habit of having its staff not be on time, Which now coupled with their late start time of no longer being open at 7:30 a.m. but now at 8:00 a.m.... means there are less opportunities to have a blood draw early in the morning. It means that only four spots exist before 9:00 a.m, provided they're even staffed properly. The reason this is important is because as a fasting blood draw transplant patient, I have to draw at what's called the trough or the lowest point of my medication and I have to put off eating and my medication until my blood draw. 9:00 a.m. is that cut off, Even delaying until 10:00 a.m. is potentially possible, However that only gives me an additional four time slots to potentially choose from. Since these time spots are coveted, they're nigh impossible to get. Now when we combine these things with standing orders, as most transplant patients have, which is a typical practice and does not require an appointment, nor should it for the practical reason of the patient's circumstance requiring the standing orders in the first place. While I understand adapting the systems under these protocols, If they don't take into a consideration what their patients need, they will only continue to fail them. Make the system more adaptable to your patient's needs."

"My daughter had her dermatology appointment at the Del Mar Sharp Rees Stealy with Dr. “John”, (sorry his last name is hard to spell). She was nervous because she’s had a skin fungus since forever and hasn’t had much luck with treatment which is stressful. We drove some distance to this office and were pleasantly surprised and grateful for such an overall great visit. The beautiful office and building is nice but more importantly we were greeted so warmly and professionally by all, from receptionists, to nurses to the Dr. himself. Our check-in and wait was brief and Dr. John was awesome, really giving time and attention to my daughter, answering questions, being thorough and professional. We never felt rushed and he even sent her home with some special soaps in addition to her prescription which I know she appreciated. We both give thumbs up to Dr. John and his staff (as well as staff in nearby offices who were also helpful and friendly), for making us feel so welcome and well taken care of. We highly recommend!"

"TLDR; If you're going into the lab for a blood draw, wait until 830AM. I'm a frequent consumer of healthcare at Sharp. (Been going to area hospitals since I was 12 for a chronic blood condition, literally have had thousands of blood draws.) I've been to every facility Sharp (and SRS) has in San Diego. This (blood draw) lab is NEVER on time, this is the closest lab to me, and I drive thirty minutes to get here only to always find some kind of delay. In the six times I've been to this lab, I've arrived consistently between 7:20-8:00 AM. The lab "opens" at 7:30AM , its hours are posted clearly, yet the staff don't seem equipped to man those hours. In the past, four of those six times, the phlebotomist was late, arriving at nearly 8, or later, while there was at least someone at intake. The last two times on the other hand, I was greeted by a group waiting and a completely empty department behind the desk. This causes a build up of people who are waiting, all of whom intentionally came here to do this with haste. Each time at least four to five people have been waiting by the time a phlebotomist enters the picture. Today, a nurse from another area came over to help because it's so critically understaffed. This delay, means when someone comes in early, only to wait 15-30 for staff to arrive, then another 15-30 once they're able to sign in, means they're up to an hour or later, delayed. For people like me, who have to fast waiting for their draw, this becomes another layer of frustrating. This is absurd. Sharp can do better. Fix the lab, it just needs to be staffed properly."

"Very swank interior with views of the lagoon and the 5. About as friendly staff as any other Sharp. Had a grrrrrreat experience with Duerte who I give 10 stars out of 5. The parking is difficult as there are numerous "I've got too much money" shops and people. All in all 5 stars!"

"Really nice facility, very new and clean looking. The employees working here are very unprofessional and not very bright. After having a follow up appointment scheduled for weeks when we got to this location we were seen 37 minutes late after being berated about paperwork and wanting a signature for a release. Long story short unprofessional, incompetent and recommend that you go to a different location, we most certainly will never be coming back unless absolutely forced to. Of course maybe the only reason why an appointment was available relatively soon was because this location was being avoided by others."
