"I had a decompression surgery on August 17th. The surgery team did not get my pain baseline right and was in total agony post op. It took 1.5 hours before I had some pain relief. The operation was a failure. I went home a couple hours after surgery and the pain has been horrible At the first post op visit I discussed the problem and was given pain medications. It is now Oct. 12th. and nothing has been done after three visits with the PA. There is slow or non response to my requests for answers about the pain in my leg and hip area post op. I was told I may see the doctor six weeks from now. The surgery center in Aptos was small and crowded. I would suggest shopping around. Dr. Summa was not good and the whole process after surgery was lousy. Poor pain management and poor communication. Something happened to my hip or back during surgery. It is now 03/09/2016. I had Dr. Ciara Harrahar do a second opinion. She seemed professional and I asked her to if she would do the surgery. She accepted and a week later I was without pain and the operation was a success. No outpatient surgery center or screwing around get these things done by professionals in a professional setting. Stay away from Spine clinic."
