"This may be one of the best times to visit the Sonoma Valley in decades. Fewer crowds certainly, but the slight downside is fewer businesses. Although, I used to drive up years ago when many of the tourist driven businesses hadn't yet been established. Besides, don't go up for those businesses go up for the beauty of the valley itself. It will definitely recharge your batteries and we all need that after this arduous year, 2020."

"While visiting SF, we drove to Muir woods and arrived in Sonoma around noon. We had less than four hours to explore, because we had to return our rental car in SF. The best thing we did was stopped by the center and ask for recommendations. The volunteer guide was so knowledgeable, we we're able to visit Benziger and join a tour, explore two other vineyards. Then make it back to SF in time. Also, at the visitor center, there was a place, who sold empanadas, with sauce /chutney not quite sure to describe the condiment- Well, it was delicious. Would I choose Napa over Sonoma? I'm pretty laid back , so yes a million times yes! If Napa is the gateway to California's wine country, then Sonoma is its soul."

"The maps and other information was very helpful. Excellent recommendations on which vineyards to visit: Bueno Vista, Arrowood, Imagery, Bezinger, Matanzas Creek Let them know you have a GPS and can handle directions because otherwise 75% of the time is spent with them giving you directions."

"The Sonoma Valley Visitor center is a must stop. Doesn't matter if you already have a plan, they might have a better one, and they are incredible friendly. And apart from great advise you will find a restaurant, art galleries and some shops here too. You also have to make at least one picture sitting in their huge blue chair - just saying..."
