"We went to see Circus Vargas in Escondido, CA. The only circus we had been to before that was a Ringling Brothers show years ago when they still had the animals. Circus Vargas is much smaller and intimate. The tent may hold 400 people. I recommend getting seats right in front of the stage since most performers are oriented in that direction. We didn't know and got seats on the side, and some acts were a bit hard to see. It started a bit slow - by that I mean it felt like a very small local circus and I was getting nervous that my kids would get bored or disappointed. But as the time went on, they had very exciting acts like acrobats and three motorcycles in a cage. We thoroughly enjoyed the smaller scale, family friendly entertainment Circus Vargas offered. Many of the performers are from other countries that have a contract with the circus. They tour with Circus Vargas for 10 months out of the year. Some of them also work the concession stands before the show and during the intermission. That made me sad a bit - they are all very talented and I felt like they shouldn't have to be selling popcorn. But all in all, it was a great experience. My teenager, younger kids and I all enjoyed it and will definitely go again next year!"
"We saw Circus Vargas when they were in Escondido (northern San Diego County) and they were absolutely amazing! The show was tons of fun for people of any age. No animal acts but that didn't bother me at all, their stunts were more than enough to make up for it. So worth it go check them out!"
"The show : 20 stars ! Incredible! The talent they have is remarkable and the performers are also working at snack lines and ticket booth. Very hard working team , be prepared to be amazed. I had one problem: the older couple (sweet couple)selling coffee ☕️, the older man pulled the credit card swiper 2 feet away from me and next to him on the other side of counter. I asked him where I was supposed to swipe my card and he said by “where he was. “ I found this strange. So then he said he would do it for me :bad move on my part! He did this and I watched. He pushed buttons when it came to the tip. He skipped the tip. I wanted to tip…. He skipped from allowing me to tip. I wanted to tip him. They were so kind. They deserved it. That was my only issue. Again a very sweet sweet couple - Lesson to circus: Always let the patron tip."
"I used to go to the circus when my kids where little and stopped going since they are all grown, but I went this past weekend to circus Vargas and I am glad I did. I enjoyed the whole show. The clowns where funny and engaging with the audience. The bike and global act was my favorite. Even though there are no animal acts anymore, it is worth the money to go see the hard work these performers do to entertain us."
"Love this circus, I come back every year; it's the best performance compared to others I been to; the food is great too!"
